Chovy received the most MVP titles
League of Legends Champions Korea handed out the 2025 season awards this Thursday, September 4, celebrating the best players of the world’s strongest league, the LCK, after over five months of regular season play. Unsurprisingly, Gen.G swept the votes following their near-perfect 29-1 run. The MSI and Esports World Cup champions placed all five of their players in the All-Pro Team, with Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon named MVP of the Year, Kim "KIM" Jeong-soo earning Coach of the Year. BNK FearX’s young AD Carry Nam "Diable" Dae-geun is taking Rookie of the Year.
The league also unveiled the All-LCK Second Team, featuring Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon, Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun, Gwak "Bdd" Bo-sung, Park "Viper" Do-hyeon, and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok, as well as the Third Team with Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, Han "Peanut" Wang-ho, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, and Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong. South Korea’s top three teams are of extraordinary quality and could all be legitimate contenders at Worlds.
Gen.G on top of Korea
Gen.G swept nearly all the awards, a true statement of their unmatched dominance throughout the year, with their only stumble being a single loss to T1 at the start of Round 3. Whether in solo lanes, jungle, or botlane, Gen.G’s players proved to be superior to the rest of the LCK, making them heavy favorites for the domestic title and strong contenders at Worlds.
The Second Team featured Bdd, a choice that delighted many fans, given the level shown by one of the Four Emperors. Despite KT’s struggles during Summer, Bdd delivered a strong split. The only debated pick was Viper being selected over Gumayusi for AD Carry, as many felt Gumayusi’s Summer and late Spring form outshone Viper’s stellar start to the year, which later declined.
Chovy unsurprisingly claimed the most Player of the Match awards and also took home MVP honors. Recognition also went to the coaching staff, with KIM rewarded for his work at Gen.G. Finally, Diable’s rookie split was remarkable; at just 17 years old, he became the cornerstone of BNK FearX, leading them to the Play-In and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
