KT just eliminated Dplus KIA and sent them to the Rise Group in the span of four days
The Road to MSI kicked off in the LCK with a rematch between Dplus KIA and KT Rolster, a repeat of the tiebreaker played at the end of the regular season — once again won by KT. Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong and his squad came out on top against a DK side that looked nothing like the team that shined during the LCK Cup. With the win, KT advance to Round 2 of the Road to MSI, where they'll face Nongshim RedForce on Sunday, June 8 at 8 AM CET.
KT have won 9 of their last 10 BOs
Game 1 was heavily dominated by Dplus KIA, who held a 6,000 gold lead past the 35-minute mark. As they pressured KT’s topside, Bdd quietly pushed through the botside, taking everything — inhibitor, Nexus towers — while KT kept canceling DK’s recalls. With no one able to back or teleport, Bdd ended the game in a surprising back door, stealing Game 1 for KT.
Games 2 and 3 were much cleaner from KT. Game 2 was the shortest of the series, needing just 28 minutes to reach match point. In the final game, Bdd locked in Cassiopeia while DK gambled on heavy scaling with Smolder, Viktor, and Kindred — a plan that never came to life. KT seemed to always know where Choi "Lucid" Yong-hyeok was and defended every mark, while Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram ended with double the damage of his counterpart, it hardly mattered. KT Rolster advance to the next round, continuing their promising run.
KT are in great form, having played ten Bo5s in the last month and losing only one to Gen.G. After a tough start to the split and multiple changes at top, AD Carry, and support, their current roster seems stable and has found strong synergy and a clear playstyle. They face Nongshim on Saturday, and if they win, they’ll meet T1 next. Although the road to MSI is still long, their run so far is impressive and promising.
