"That’s the best play of the year in the LFL"
Having remained relatively quiet since joining the LFL, Jeon "PanGjin" Gwang-jin finally stepped into the spotlight this Thursday. At the 25-minute mark in Game 2 of the BO3 series against Solary, IJC’s AD Carry pulled off a heroic solo play that resulted in a quadrakill. Piloting Kai’Sa, the South Korean flied from the center of the midlane to the enemy Wraiths in an attempt to take down his direct opponent, Belan "TakeSet" Ahour. Pangjin put himself into a 1v2 against Solary’s botlane, from which he emerged with two kills.
At that point, his fate seemed sealed, as the rest of the opposing team converged on him to secure the shutdown. However, aided by the timely arrival of his teammates, Pangjin managed to survive and claim two additional kills. The massive outplay stands out as one of the season’s most impressive moments. “That’s the best play of the year in the LFL,” posted OTP, the league’s official broadcaster, on X.
Ici Japon on the Rise
This play was a significant moment for Pangjin, who had struggled to fill the shoes of former standout ADC Lee "Hans SamD" Jae-hoon, now playing for Natus Vincere in the LEC. Before this match, Pangjin had been ranked only the 9th best AD Carry in the league according to Sheep Stats, with a rating of 56 out of 100. Just minutes after his highlight-reel play, IJC closed out the second game and clinched the series 2–0 against Solary.
The victory marks a turning point for the Winter Split finalists, who seem to be regaining momentum. Just the day before, Ici Japon had secured their first win of the Summer Split after a string of three losses, defeating Joblife 2–1. Previously ranked last, the team has now climbed to 7th place—just one position shy of the top six, which qualify for playoffs. Galions continue to dominate the LFL standings with an unblemished 5–0 record, while reigning champions BK ROG are struggling in 8th place, tied with IJC in win-loss record.
