GIANTX Pride remained undefeated in Swiss and Playoffs this Summer
GIANTX Pride is the new king of Spain. After falling short in the Spring final against Barça eSports, GIANTX Pride struck back in style on Saturday, sweeping Los Heretics 3–0 in the Summer Split Grand Final of the Superliga. It’s the first title for the club since the merger of EXCEL and Giants, ending a four-year wait since Giants' last title.
GIANTX Pride’s 2025 summer campaign was nothing short of dominant. After finishing first in the regular season, they didn’t drop a single series from that point onward. Undefeated in the Swiss stage, they entered playoffs with momentum and immediately made a statement by sweeping Los Heretics 3–0 in the opening round of the double-elimination bracket. While Heretics battled back through the lower bracket, GIANTX never wavered.
The road to EMEA Masters
In the grand final, the script repeated itself: another clean 3–0, where every game looked increasingly one-sided. Midlaner Jeong "Feisty" Seong-hoon, who has been with the team since its rebrand two years ago, claimed his first European title and earned a well-deserved Finals MVP, finishing the series with a 15/6/28 KDA.
The season isn’t over yet. In 2025, the Superliga introduced a system where teams accumulate points across all three splits based on their final standings in each split. The four best teams of the year now advance to a Final Four tournament to determine seeding for the upcoming EMEA Masters Summer Split.
This decisive event will take place next weekend, August 30–31, in front of a live audience at the Madrid Arena (capacity 12,000). The top three teams will qualify directly for the Main Event, while the fourth will have to fight their way through the Last Chance Qualifier. GXP will face Barça eSports in a rematch of the Spring final, while Los Heretics take on Veni Vidi Vici. The winners will then clash to determine who secures the No. 1 seed.
