Dignitas and LYON are now eliminated from LTAN Split 3
Disguised are looking like a revitalized squad in the LTA North Split 3 so far. On Saturday, DSG took down Team Dignitas, eliminating them in the first stage of the losers’ bracket for the LTA North Split 3 — and therefore ending their 2025 season. The addition of Isaac "DARKWINGS" Chou and Cho "Rahel" Min-seong has already paid off. DARKWINGS, a rookie from the NACL has made an immediate impact with his performances in his debut at the tier 1 level, while Rahel’s consistency in the botlane has also helped DSG become more stable and in control of their games.
The series carried extra weight for jungler Lawrence Lin "eXyu" Xu, who faced his former team in the elimination matchup. For DSG, the stakes were high as they would have to play in the relegation tournament at the end of the year either way, as they are the guest slot holders. Being able to beat DIG would extend their season and give them more time to grow, as well as improve together with this new roster. Their toplaner Cho "Castle" Hyeon-seong got MVP of the series.
Exyu eliminated his former team
In the end, DSG rose to the occasion, eliminating Team Dignitas from the LTA North Split 3, sending them to the offseason early and heading into the next stage of the Elimination Phase. There, they will face one of the favourites to win the entire LTA Championship: Cloud9. This is the conclusion of a rough year for Dignitas, with their highest finish being a 5th-6th position in the Split 2 playoffs.
The following day, the second series of the weekend was a close-fought series between 100 Thieves and LYON, ending in 3-1 for 100T. The general sentiment heading into the weekend was that LYON was the favourite going into the series, but not by a large margin. LYON had been more consistent throughout the split, even with their visa issues.
100T, on the other hand, have been looking a bit shaky with the implementation of Dhokla as their six-man / positional coach. But when it came down to the series, 100T proved the doubters wrong, and Dhokla helped 100 Thieves show a new sign of life. In a long back-and-forth series, they ended up winning, with River receiving the MVP of the series for his performance.
Next step: Liquid
After the win, support Bill "Eyla" Nguyen looked ahead to their next series: Team Liquid. He hinted at a one-sided scrim result: “The days have been really short every time we scrim them,” though he left out which side was doing the stomping. TL have been struggling through the split, trying to climb back to their peak from Split 1. The matchup between TL and 100T is going to be a super interesting and might decide if Team Liquid will be heading into the offseason with changes in mind or not. For Team Liquid, the split has been an uphill battle. Struggling to reach the same level as they did in Split 1 when they qualified for the First Stand, their matchup against 100T will be a challenge as well as an opportunity to prove themselves again.
With DSG showing their growth, 100T pulling off a statement run, and LYON and Dignitas being eliminated, the LTA North Split 3 elimination stage has already delivered some good games and storylines. The road only gets tougher and more interesting from here, with giants Cloud9 versus DSG, and a struggling Team Liquid versus revitalized 100T. If the past weekend is any indication, the final series is going to be unpredictable and high-stakes matches, as it is do-or-die for some of these teams.
