Sources: Greece lock in League of Legends roster for Esports Nations Cup

Greece has found its representatives to defend the nation’s colors in League of Legends at the Esports Nations Cup, set to take place in Riyadh from November 21 to 29. Under the leadership of Vasilis “TheRock” Voltis, seven players have been selected to lead the Greek squad. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, the lineup will consist of:

The roster boasts considerable pedigree. In the sololanes, Greece can count on two LEC players from Fnatic in Empyros and Vladi, but the headline name is G2 Esports support Labrov, recent Worlds quarterfinalist and First Stand finalist, who will serve as the team's metronome. His 1,650 points alone, as with any G2 player competing at the ENC, are enough to secure Greece a direct berth in the Main Event, bypassing the qualifiers entirely. The team will therefore make its tournament debut in June.

Labrov will be paired with Comp, a former LEC AD Carry currently under contract with Joblife in the LFL. In the jungle, Greece has the luxury of choosing between two HLL players, the Greek ERL, with time on their side. Drofan represents Team Insidious, who finished 3rd-4th in Spring, while Pallet just claimed the HLL title with WLGaming Esports.

Several connections already exist within the squad. Empyros and Comp spent a full year together at Gentle Mates in the LFL before the former made his LEC breakthrough. Comp and Labrov also share history, having played together at Team Vitality’s LEC team in 2021. As for TheRock, he has previously coached both midlaners: Vladi at WLGaming Esports in the 2023 Spring split, and Peppe, the team’s substitute, at Team Phantasma in 2022.
