Itâs been two months since Jaden âNotexxdâ Anderson joined Cloud9, and now, according to Sheep Esports sources, heâs heading to the bench. The 22-year old Bermudian rookie was brought in to Cloud9âs VALORANT roster suddenly, mid-VCT-split, to replace the stepping-down Victor âv1câ Truong. That meant his first time in Tier 1, having previously played on the top-performing Tier 2 roster QOR in the VCL. With Notexxd stepping down, Sheep Esports sources suggest that v1c is rejoining C9, set to take back his former spot.
On QOR, Notexxd was instrumental in bringing the team a championship in VCL Stage 1, winning 3-0 against Shopify Rebellion Black only a few months ago. But in his time on Cloud9, Notexxd would play only three series, with less optimal results. He debuted against G2 Esports in an 0-2 series that completed C9âs failure to get past the VCT Stage 1 group stage. Next, he played at the Esports World Cup Americas qualifier, where C9 had to substitute in Assistant Coach Wyatt âVeerâ Blevins onto the roster. Here, C9 went 1-2 to ENVY and 0-2 to Sentinels, and was eliminated in the qualifierâs lower bracket. Now set to be benched, Notexxdâs time on C9 has amounted to an 0-3 series record in total.
Notexxdâs joining was part of a larger roster shakeup on C9, with his replacing v1c coming just after the replacement of Erik âPennyâ Penny one series before, for fellow fresh rookie Jack âJackkâ Foote. Only a few weeks later, C9 VAL mainstay, whoâd played for the team over five years, Erick âXeppaaâ Bach left as well. Penny, v1c, and Xeppaa all individually approached the team with intentions to leave. Now, Notexxd is set to leave, and of those three players departing, v1c will be returning to replace him.
