Sources have told
Sheep Esports that Movistar KOI Fénix’s top laner
will travel to Berlin to work alongside the organization's LEC roster. The Ukrainian player is expected to join the main team while continuing to compete for
’s academy in Spain's LES.
Despite the addition, MKOI's current top laner,
, is expected to remain the starting top laner for the LEC roster.
The move comes ahead of the start of the LEC Summer Split after a disappointing first half of the season for the Spanish org. The decision also follows months-old comments from MKOI head coach Tomás "Melzhet" Campelos Fernández, who had publicly challenged the performances of Myrwn and AD carry
in an interview with Sheep Esports. Both players are contracted until the end of the 2026 season, but Melzhet had said in March that if the decision was made that day "they don't deserve to be renewed," adding that both still needed to raise their level.
Melzhet had added that improvement alone would not be enough unless it reached the level required for MKOI to compete with LEC's best teams, stressing that the organization is aiming to challenge teams like
rather than settling for just some incremental progress.
NightSlayer's training, a possible LEC debut?
In the past year, NightSlayer has established himself as one of the more promising young top laners in the Spanish ERL. The Ukrainian joined Movistar KOI Fénix in May of last year and earned a contract extension for the 2026 season after strong performances in the LES. Under the current plan, he will continue representing the academy roster in official competition while spending time in Berlin practicing with the LEC roster as well.
The arrangement gives MKOI an additional option in the top lane while allowing NightSlayer to gain experience against LEC-level players on a daily basis. Rather than serving as an immediate roster change, the move’s objective seems to create internal competition that pushes Myrwn to improve while accelerating NightSlayer's development within the organization.
Considering that earlier this year the organization secured contract extensions for the entire MKOI roster — head coach included — NightSlayer's addition to the team as it's sixth man seems just a byproduct of a poor LEC Spring Split from the main roster. However, bringing NightSlayer into the LEC environment provides the coaching staff with another developmental option as the other players look to improve its results during the remainder of the season.
