The controversy overshadowed
’s Roadtrip event in Madrid three weeks ago. At the end of the opening day, the founders of the host organization, Ibai Llanos, and
founder Kamel “Kameto” Kebir engaged
in a public dispute on stream and on X.
The catalyst was a clip posted by the TraytonTV account, associated with French streamer Jean “TraYtoN” Medzadourian, in which the content creator expressed disappointment with the attendance for the opening match between KC and
. Ibai responded by insulting the KC fanbase, stating that “
taking into account the level of shit KC has, it seems like too many people to me”, prompting Kameto to cancel a planned showmatch.
On Sunday, Riot Games updated its
disciplinary database listing sanctions issued to LEC members. According to the document,
both organizations were fined €5,000 on June 1 for “
Conduct unbecoming of an LEC team member”. While the wording mirrors that of several previous sanctions,
Sheep Esports can confirm that the penalty is directly linked to this exchange and the reactions it generated. The two teams, who are set to face this Saturday for a place in the LEC Spring Split final and, more importantly,
qualification for the Mid-Season Invitational, also received formal warnings from Riot Games.
Second warning for Jojopyun
The organizations were not the only parties affected by the publisher’s decision. Against the backdrop of the controversy, the match between the two teams the following day was played in a particularly charged atmosphere. While
was not sanctioned for standing up and gesturing for silence toward his opponents after securing a pentakill in Game 1,
was not as fortunate. Following Movistar KOI’s series-tying victory, the Canadian midlaner told Laure Valée on broadcast: “
We are gonna fuck KC so hard the next game”.As a result, Jojopyun received a €2,000 fine along with a formal warning. According to Riot’s records, this is the second warning issued to the Canadian player in less than a year. The midlaner had previously received one for the same offence on June 12, 2025, a sanction that is set to expire on June 13 of this year. He is also the only member of the Movistar KOI roster currently carrying an active disciplinary sanction. On Karmine Corp’s side, KCB
,
, and Head Coach Quentin "Zeph" Viguié were all issued warnings between December 2025 and January 2026.
This marks the first time at least since June 2025 that Riot Games has imposed financial penalties + a warning on LEC members, including both organizations and players. The publisher has, however, gone further in the past. Last year, Rogue support Lee “Execute” Jeong-hoon received a one-match suspension during the Spring Split playoffs for behaviour deemed inappropriate in Solo Queue.
