VALORANT – GC Championship: MIBR reverse G2 and KRÜ sweep KC to reach the top 4

On Thursday, the seventh day of the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2025 in Seoul marked another decisive turning point in the lower bracket, with two high-stakes matchups. On one side, G2 Gozen faced MIBR GC in a rematch with clear overtones of revenge after their clashes in 2024; on the other, Karmine Corp GC were fighting for survival against KRÜ Blaze, only a few days after dropping out of the upper bracket. At the end of the day, MIBR and KRÜ got their ticket for the top 4.

Facing G2 Gozen in Lower Round 3, MIBR GC claimed a 2–1 victory at the end of a tightly contested series, defined by a monumental comeback on the deciding map. The Brazilians started strongly by taking their pick, Bind, 14–12, capitalising on a solid opening from Nicolas "srN" Niederauer, who closed the map with 51 kills and the highest rating on her team. G2 responded authoritatively on Sunset, their map choice, which they closed out 13–5; Aleyna "Vania" Keskin reaffirmed her status as G2’s main offensive engine, finishing the series at the top of the team’s scoreboard with 68 kills.

Everything ultimately came down to Split, a map that shifted into the realm of the exceptional. Trailing 2–10, MIBR GC produced a remarkable comeback to win in overtime, driven in particular by Paula "bstrdd" Naguil, who recorded a 29/18/8 KDA on the decider despite the early deficit.

Around her, Camila "sayuri" Obam, Giulia "lissa" Lissa and Melissa "melissa" Souza locked down key zones on defence and stabilised the mid-rounds, gradually stifling the initiatives of Esllene "Akita" Xu, Michaela "mimi" Lintrup and Petra "Petra" Stoker" on the G2 side. With this hard-fought success, MIBR GC continue their run through the lower bracket and qualify for Lower Round 4, where they will face KRÜ Blaze, with a global top-three finish now within reach.

In the day’s other series, Karmine Corp GC and KRÜ Blaze opened their Lower Round 3 encounter on Split, the French side’s map pick, but it was the South American roster that dictated the pace, winning 13–6 on Split and then 13–3 on Haven. Led by Montserrat "mmonch" Rivera Gutierrez and Caue "dods" Fernandes, KRÜ controlled the economy and site entries throughout the match, with dods posting 34 kills and a very high overall ACS, while Lorena Micaela "micaela" Ferreyra and Beatriz "biazik" Begnossi provided constant support through utility and space creation.

On the Karmine Corp side, Şura "Jiex" Yıldırım and Safia "safiaa" Leghzal remained the main offensive threats, but the French team struggled to convert their openings into round wins, despite a few adjustment attempts built around Anastasia "Glance" Anisimova. Ultimately, it was not enough; from the first map onward, Karmine Corp’s game plan appeared ineffective against KRÜ’s structure and pacing. The Latin American side will now meet MIBR GC in Lower Round 4, in a matchup that will determine which of the two teams advances to the lower final of this Game Changers Championship.
