Sources: Pasameelcelo and Kellie to join University of Barcelona as toplaner and support

The University of Barcelona recently joined the Spanish League of Legends League (LES) during the Winter Split. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, UB Alma Mater will make two roster changes ahead of the next split. Toplaner “Pasameelcelo” (Jordi Franco Carreras) and support “Kellie” (Joel Rodríguez Pérez) will join the Catalan project, replacing “Skiller99” and “Simpy” (Sergi Ruiz Boloix) in their respective roles.

This will be the first ERL1 experience for both players. Pasameelcelo previously competed in the Circuito Tormenta for several years with Phlox Gaming. After stepping away from competition, he later transitioned into content creation on Twitch as a K’Sante OTP, participating in several Spanish SoloQ challenges. With this move, Pasameelcelo becomes the first Andorran player in history to compete in ERL2 or ERL1, marking a historic milestone for the country.

Kellie, meanwhile, has competed for several years across Spain’s lower divisions. Since making his debut in Liga Nexo with ECORP in 2023, he has developed his career in teams such as Oxygen Gaming, Dream Makers, and UnlockTan’i, in addition to several appearances in the Iberian Cup, which he has played three times (2023–2025) with two different organizations: ECORP and Oxygen Gaming. Among his achievements are the recent qualifier for promotion to the 2026 Superliga, a second-place finish in the 2024–25 Circuito Tormenta with O2G, and first place in the 2023–24 Circuito Tormenta with Dream Makers.

UB Alma Mater was one of the new teams selected by the LES to take part in this new project within the Spanish league. Due to the short time between the allocation of league spots and the start of the tournament—combined with the stage most teams were in during the offseason—many organizations did not have enough time to conduct deep scouting when building their rosters.

Even with these two roster changes, the University of Barcelona continues to prioritize Catalan-speaking talent as well as students or former students of the university itself.

After the first in-person inaugural tournament between the eight teams in Madrid, UB Alma Mater finished in 5th–6th place, tied with GIANTX iTero.

The Catalan team debuted with a loss against UCAM Esports, but during the lower bracket they managed to defeat Falke Esports 2–0. In the second round, UB faced the tournament champions, MKOI Fénix, falling 0–2.

With these changes, UB Alma Mater will look to take a competitive step forward ahead of the next LES split.

No further changes are expected at the University of Barcelona.
