M80 are expected to sign Joris "Joreuz" Robben, João Vitor "Motta" Brito Motta, and Arthur "DRUFINHO" Miguel for RLCS 2027. The organization, which is currently not invited to the Rocket League Club Championship partnership program, remains intent on still competing in the esport. Joreuz, who was initially linked to forming a team with Gaspar "stizzy" Andres and Cristian "crr" Raigal in Europe, now looks set to return for a second stint in North America with the same organization that recruited him for RLCS 2024. Motta and DRUFINHO both moved to the region to compete in collegiate Rocket League under Northwood University alongside Gwil "Creamz" Muir and have been looking for opportunities in the RLCS. M80 Head coach Nicholas "Nick" Marrone, who works with the Brazilians at Northwood University, retains his position for next season. While the organization initially focused on rebuilding around Rafael "Mech" Franco this offseason, who they had signed ahead of RLCS 2026, the decision was made to move forward with a new roster, especially when it became an option to bring Joreuz on board.
Both Motta and DRUFINHO, who have spent their entire careers competing in South America, will make their debut in North America next season. The Brazilian duo both have considerable LAN experience, with multiple World Championship appearances between them. DRUFINHO even recently qualified for the 2026 World Championship through the South American LCQ alongside Bernardo "Bemmz" Marta and Olímpio "nxghtt" Torres under the name Bigodes. He was able to reach the Group Stage of the competition after a shock win over MENA third seed R8 Esports in the Play-In Stage. The duo have brought their experience to the collegiate scene, driving Northwood University to a second-place finish in CRL Fall League Play and are one of the favourites to win the CRL Fall Championship this month.
After a strong RLCS 2026, where he featured in all five international LANs, Joreuz was released from Ninjas In Pyjamas alongside crr and Ole "oaly." Doorn, who all entered free agency this offseason. The Dutchman showed an early interest in returning to North America for next season, with a number of teams, including NRG, considering signing the European veteran. Joreuz also considered returning to NIP alongside his former teammate crr and Team Vitality star Stizzy, who are both expected to sign with the Swedish organization ahead of the RLCS Club Championship. However, the move fell through for Joreuz, who has now set his sights on North America once again. The 21-year-old competed in the region during RLCS 2024 alongside Nassim "nass" Bali and Austin "AYYJAYY" Aebi, a roster that had a lot of potential but was ultimately famous for its inability to secure M80 any LAN qualifications that season despite importing two players.
M80’s return to experience
M80 are one of a number of organizations to miss out on an original invite to the partnership program for the RLCS Club Championship, despite having been a part of the Esports Shop revenue share scheme last season. Despite this, they are still committed to the esport and have been assessing the market in recent weeks. There is a chance that organizations who initially missed on an invite, could receive an invitation at a later date if another organization drops out. At the moment, M80 will have to qualify for the London Kick-Off Weekend through the Club Championship Open in North America, where much like the North American LCQ from last season, only one team can qualify from the region.
Last season, M80 focused a lot of energy developing two stand out prospects in North America, Trevor "life" L and mech. While they lagged some of the major teams in the region, the duo had several peaks, including a top-four placement during the North American LCQ, where they had brought in Owen "PNDH" Young to replace the experienced Englishman, Joseph "noly" Kidd. The organization also helped mech secure a team for the Esports World Cup LCQ in Europe, giving the 15-year-old valuable LAN experience abroad, where he earned a 9th-12th with Ollie "Gawfs" Taylor and Joshua "vorce" McGrath.
The new expected M80 squad brings together far more experience at an international level with players who will be hoping they can continue to feature at RLCS LANs in the near future. Joreuz, who has been playing at the top level for over seven years now, has had a career renaissance in Europe since originally departing M80 after RLCS 2024, earning a second-place finish at the Raleigh Major in 2025, a third-place at the EWC 2026 and reaching both World Championships. While DRUFINHO and Motta have come to the region to compete in collegiate, both are considered veterans of the Brazilian RLCS scene and remain top talents. This new roster brings together a European import, with two South Americans looking to make a splash in their sister region, a call back to the Complexity Gaming squad that was a success during RLCS 2022-23.
