Sources: An alliance featuring KOI, Heretics, GIANTX and more selected as Spain’s ENC representative

According to sources close to Sheep Esports, the Esports Foundation has reportedly made its decision regarding the group that will handle Spain’s representation at the Esports Nations Cup. The joint bid bringing together , , , , , and LastLap, the new tournament organizer of the Spanish League of Legends circuit, has been selected as the official national representative.

Indeed, the ENC, set to take place from November 2 to 29 in Saudi Arabia, launched a call for applications in January to find national partners for each country. These partners will be responsible for appointing a national manager who, with the support of their “federation,” must build rosters for the different games in the competition, as well as select the coaching staff behind each team. The 16 titles featured in the event will all have the same prize pool but with varying numbers of participants, ranging from 24 to 48 nations for team-based titles and up to 128 participants in solo competitions such as chess.

As seen in other major esports countries, alliances of organizations have submitted joint bids to represent their respective nations. In France, the UFCEP — including Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, and Gentle Mates — applied before retiring its bid, while in Brazil, a coalition featuring Fluxo W7M, LOUD, FURIA, MIBR, paiN Gaming and Red Canids has also emerged.

It is an interesting approach, especially as these organizations will also receive a share of the prize money based on their players’ performances. Such a structure likely helps prevent potential conflicts between clubs. According to the rules recently unveiled by the Esports Foundation, organizations are expected to receive 40% of the prize money earned by their players, without reducing the players’ own earnings.

According to Sheep Esports, a large portion of the winning bids were selected at the start of Week 12 of 2026 as the schedule is set to accelerate. Participation is, unsurprisingly, conditioned by citizenship. Players must hold the passport of the nation they represent for at least one full year prior to the roster lock, set for April 30 at 11:59 PM AST. For players holding multiple nationalities, the EWCF states that they may represent only one country throughout the entire process. Coaches must be selected before March 29, 2026.
