MVK Esports eliminated
FURIA from the
2026 World Championship on Saturday, October 17, winning the Play-Ins Lower Bracket Final 3-1. The Vietnamese team had already swept the Brazilians 3-0 on the opening day, and the new victory moved them into the Play-Ins final, where they will face
Karmine Corp on Sunday, October 18, for the only ticket to the Swiss Stage.
FURIA’s run ends after just three series. The Brazilians lost their opener to MVK, dropping into the Lower Bracket, and then eliminated Cloud9 3-1 on Friday to earn a rematch with the Vietnamese side. That rematch was set up by Karmine Corp, who swept MVK 3-0 in the Upper Bracket Final on the same day.
A short rematch
Saturday’s series did not go FURIA’s way from the start. The Brazilians lost the first two games, won Game 3 to stay alive, but fell in Game 4 as MVK closed out the series. With the defeat, FURIA became the second team to leave Worlds 2026, a day after they themselves sent Cloud9 home.
The elimination closes a tournament that FURIA began with very little time to prepare. The Brazilian team arrived in Los Angeles only four days after losing the CBLOL final.
After the first series between the two teams, MVK mid laner Võ "
" Lê told
Sheep Esports that he saw FURIA’s decision-making after losing an advantage as their main weakness.
One ticket left
Karmine Corp will be waiting. The LEC’s third seed started its campaign by defeating Cloud9 3-2, with Caliste "
" Henry-Hennebert and Alan "
" Cwalina leading the comeback in Games 4 and 5, before beating MVK in the Upper Bracket Final.
The final will decide who moves on to the Swiss Stage and who goes home. With FURIA out,
will be Brazil’s only remaining representative at Worlds 2026, starting in the Swiss Stage.
