and has also confirmed a slot in the
Worlds 2026 Main Event.
After a middling start to the Summer Split, MKOI have leveled up massively to return to their peak form. On the other hand, it is a disappointing end to the season for KC after an undefeated regular split. With this loss, they will start in the Worlds 2026 Play-in stage. The disappointment is bound to be immense for KC, who, on top of coming within one game of the title in both Winter and Spring, had been MKOI’s bogey team all season long... until the match that mattered most.
MKOI are back in peak form
Game 1 of the series was the closest and an absolute barn-burner. After multiple back-and-forth teamfights, a huge Lee Sin kick from
onto the
Summer Split MVP broke open the floodgates. A couple more positive teamfights for MKOI allowed them to take Game 1.
Game 2 started off positively for KC but quickly fell out of control as
took over and demolished KC with his Caitlyn. He ended Game 2 with a 16/1/2 KDA.
Game 3 was a complete stomp, largely thanks to KC’s poor draft consisting of Ambessa, Dr. Mundo, LeBlanc, Ezreal, and Karma. With no CC and a very high level of execution needed, MKOI’s simple teamfighting comp including Shyvana, Qiyana, Syndra, Sivir, and Rakan steamrolled KC to complete the clean sweep.
Elyoya named MVP of the match
MKOI’s jungler Elyoya picked up the MVP of the match award. His Lee Sin and Qiyana performances, in particular, were pivotal to MKOI’s success. Despite a baffling Rift Herald play in Game 1, the rest of the series was close to flawless from the veteran Spanish jungler.
Elyoya has the chance to secure his fifth LEC title on September 20 as an in-form MKOI will play against the kings of Europe and three-time reigning champions G2 Esports. Last year, MKOI and G2 already faced each other in the Summer Grand Finals. The Samurais swept the Spanish team.
