LYON Saint: "I don’t think there is any team that is too scary"

delivered a dominant performance against in their opening match at Worlds. Just as they did in their previous meeting earlier this year at MSI, LYON secured the win in under 27 minutes to move to a 1–0 record. The team will face Karmine Corp in their next match, looking to build on their strong start and move closer to a place in the playoffs.

After securing the first Worlds victory of his career, is eager to cap off a strong season with an impressive performance at the most prestigious tournament in League of Legends. He spoke to Sheep Esports following the match.

Kang "Saint" Sung-in: “I wasn’t that good, because I made a few mistakes in the early game, like the timing of the first and second crab bases. After the third crab, I went to mid and there was a fight. Those two mistakes were an obvious problem. So, not that good, but it’s nice that we won.

Saint: It was kind of obvious. We didn’t make mistakes, and there was only a fight at the crab and the river. Our strategy was: we don’t care, nothing is scary, we just fight. And we won.

Saint: At MSI, I think we were kind of lucky. I remember my Taliyah E was still on the enemy Baron. There were a few things we were lucky to win, but we didn’t play that well in that series. Today, I think we played pretty well, and that’s why we won easily.

Saint: Eddie said that to Berserker, right? To be honest, Berserker is a Chad. He doesn’t give a fuck about what they say. I think he just shows who he is.

Saint: We focused on my plays, like the few mistakes from me, the base timing and the fight timing. We talked about that, and today we made a few mistakes, but we still played pretty well. We will not fall behind at all.

Saint: I think we are a pretty good team right now at Worlds. I don’t think there is any team that is too scary. We just play with our ideas, and today we just played from that draft.

Saint: I was truly happy. When the crowd cheers for us, because this is our home ground. So thank you very much to them for coming.

Saint: I wasn’t really focused on these obvious mistakes. I thought they could be fixed easily, but at First Stand and MSI, they sometimes came out randomly, and I didn’t fix them. Hopefully I have fixed every problem now and become a better midlaner.

Saint: To be honest, for a win, I want to face MKOI, but for fun, I want to face DK Showmaker (Heo Su).

Saint: Earlier, during the Worlds scrims, I didn’t have the right mindset. I was kind of tilted, and I didn’t listen much to our coach or Inspired. A few days ago, I felt I should stop that. After that, I think our vibe has been really good, in scrims and in matches too.”
