KRÜ Esports have been selected as a VCT Americas partner team for the 2027-2028 cycle

KRÜ Esports have been selected as a VCT Americas partner team in the 2027-2028 VALORANT esports cycle, as announced by the organization on Sunday. The prestigious Argentinian organization, founded by famous footballer Sergio Agüero, have often been the pride of LATAM and put the scene on the map in the early days of VALORANT esports with deep runs at Masters Berlin 2021 and Champions 2021.

Historically, the team held the distinction of being the only team from VCT Americas to attend every single Champions, a streak which was broken in 2025. Despite unsatisfactory results in the past few years, KRÜ maintain a strong fanbase and are one of the most important organizations in VCT LATAM.

KRÜ Esports have had a real fall from grace. From dominating Latin America before the franchising era to making a miraculous LCQ run to qualify for Champions 2023, the organization has given VALORANT esports plenty of memorable moments with a variety of rosters. Since 2025, they have failed to qualify for any international event, with their best result being a 4th place finish in VCT Americas 2025 Kickoff.

Rival Argentinian organization Leviatán, which is also a partner, has firmly established itself as the very best, a spot that KRÜ used to have an iron grip on for many years. These recent struggles have evidently not contributed much to the selection process, as the team’s wide presence in the LATAM fanbase and commitment to VALORANT esports since 2021 have allowed them to maintain their status as a partner team.

2027 is the time for KRÜ Esports to get serious and build a formidable roster that can help them return to the top. One of the biggest storylines to keep track off during the offseason will be newly crowned world champion Enzo “tkzin” Zimiani’s destination. The LOUD Duelist won Champions Shanghai 2026 while still being on loan from KRÜ Esports’ academy roster, KRÜ Spark. It is very likely that KRÜ will not let go off tkzin easily after his monumental success in closing out the VCT 2026 season.
