BLG Xun: "This year feels like a brand-new start"

With only a few hours until ’s opening match against , all eyes are on the LPL representatives to carry their region’s hopes and show that Korea is not the only powerhouse at the top. After a dominant regional performance, BLG aims to bring the same pace and decisiveness to the First Stand stage in São Paulo. In an exclusive interview, Sheep Esports sat down with the team’s jungler, , to discuss his return to BLG, the strength of other teams at the tournament, and his squad’s current form.

Peng "Xun" Li-Xun: “We’ve arrived here for a couple of days, and in general we’ve been sleeping and eating pretty well. I’m very happy with our current form, especially when it comes to communication and shotcalling.

Xun: Yes, as you said, there hasn’t been a lot of time to scrim. We have yet to concretize what is the current meta, so we’ll need to get a feel for what is strong by playing on stage. It will be interesting to see how the meta evolves.

Xun: This year feels like a brand-new start here at BLG. We have new coaches and a new AD Carry, so it’s way different from 2024. We still need some time to improve our synergy and communication.

Xun: I'm very happy to come back to BLG to fight together with my brothers. We all remained good friends. Aside from this, everyone’s performing really well, and our synergy has been really good.

Xun: I don’t really have many thoughts on what happened back then. What’s important is for everyone to maintain their performances and form while staying optimistic.

Xun: It doesn’t feel very different to me. As before, my role is to fit whatever our team needs depending on the current game and meta, as well as aligning with what my teammates need.

Xun: In my eyes, it will come down to who has the better form on the day if we face each other. Both of us have equal chances to win.

Xun: My strength is in how fast I can adapt my decision-making. As a player, I’m quite fast and flexible for my team. That said, it can also be my weakness. Since I tend to play at a fast tempo and try to lead the game, sometimes it can backfire or lead to situations we had not expected.

Xun: I believe G2 will be very strong at First Stand. Every time we’ve faced them, they always gave us some very tough matches. They are a difficult opponent to prepare against. I believe they will bring very good performances.”
