” Dan-woo, who joined during the mid-season break, reflected on securing his first-ever LCK win. He also discussed his developing synergy with mid laner Lee "
" Ju-hyeon and how he is gradually finding his place within the roster with a lot of confidence.
How do you feel about the victory?
Kim "Sharvel" Dan-woo: "Since yesterday, I had a good feeling about today's match, so I thought we could definitely win. Actually winning feels like a dream, and I'm really happy.
And your thoughts on being named Player of the Match (PoM)?
Sharvel: Honestly, I didn't expect to get PoM. I just thought it would be nice if I did, but the game went better than I expected, so I got it, and I also got to do my first interview on the main roster. I'm really happy.
What are your overall thoughts on today's match? What do you think led to the win?
Sharvel: There were some mistakes today, but I think we won because everyone played well, and I was able to stay focused until the end and do my job.
You showed great form in both games today. What score would you give your own performance?
Sharvel: I don't think I made any big mistakes today. In fights, there were obviously some things that could have been better, but in terms of the game and macro, I don't think I made any mistakes, so out of 10, I'd give myself an 8 or 9.
Game 3 was really intense at the end, especially the teamfight in front of the Nexus before Elder, and then taking down the Nexus. What was the situation like at the time?
Sharvel: We had taken all three inhibitors, got Elder, and were pushing out. Honestly, if it had been solo queue or a scrim, it would have felt like an obvious win to anyone. But because it was an official match, and because we really had to win, the tension stayed extremely high until the very end. So, yes, it was fun.
You're known for being good on assassin champions like Qiyana. Including today's games, which champion would you say you're most confident on?
Sharvel: The champion I'm most confident on is Qiyana, even though I didn't play her today. And honestly, if I can brag a little, I'm confident I can play her better than anyone in the world, so I hope the day comes when I can play her on stage.
As a rookie, you may have been nervous, and you probably had things you wanted to prove. What mindset did you prepare with for today's match?
Sharvel: If I had to say my goal when I joined this team, it was to get at least one win no matter what. We got that win today, so it's a really meaningful day for me.
After joining a new team, was there anything that was different from what you expected, or anything that surprised you?
Sharvel: When I came here, I just thought all the older guys were really kind and treated me well. More than I expected.
Fans are probably very curious about the pairing of Clozer and a rookie jungler. Now that you've played with him, what kind of midlaner is Clozer?
Sharvel: Clozer is a player who has a lot of strengths, starting from the laning phase, and in fights he shows a lot of really sharp moments. I think those are his big strengths.
How is your synergy with Clozer, especially in 2v2 mid-jungle situations?
Sharvel: Clozer and I talked a lot starting from scrims. Since it was our first time working together, there were definitely a lot of things that didn't line up at first. But looking back now, those conversations were all meaningful, and I think they became good steps forward. So I feel like we did well.
This is probably your first time scrimming as a starting player on an LCK main roster. Has anything felt different compared to your time with Dplus KIA Challengers?
Sharvel: When it comes to main roster scrims, honestly, I don't really think, 'They're a main roster team,' when I'm playing against them. I just play the way I usually do, and we've been winning scrims too, so I don't think there's any major difference.
How is communication handled in-game?
Sharvel: For the most part, I think I'm the one setting the overall framework and leading the game. I think I play while actively making calls well.
Recently, your former Dplus KIA Challengers teammates played in the KeSPA Cup. They were unfortunately eliminated, but they showed a lot of good moments. Did watching those matches motivate you, Sharvel?
Sharvel: It definitely motivated me, of course. I also felt like I really had to do well. That's what I was thinking.
Lastly, please tell us what goals you want to achieve with DNS, and say a word to the fans supporting the team. We noticed some fans crying today as well.
Sharvel: The goal I really want to achieve with DNS is, I believe we have six matches left, and I want to win every single one of them and make it to Play-In. To the fans who support us, I think you've probably had a hard time emotionally until now, so I'll win a lot and help you feel more at ease.
Talking with you, you seem very confident. I'm curious if we'll see more celebrations from you going forward. Can we look forward to that?
Sharvel: As for celebrations, yes, as long as we win, I'm thinking of doing something. I'm someone who likes getting attention, so yes, I have plans."
