The good news keeps coming for
. On Sunday, the French AD Carry
secured the tenth LEC title of his career after another closely contested series against
(3-2). On Friday,
announced that their player, whose contract had previously been due to expire at the end of the 2026 season, had agreed to a two-year extension. Having joined the organization in December 2022, Hans Sama will now remain with Europe's most decorated club through the end of 2028.
Hans Sama becomes the second member of G2's current roster to extend his contract through 2028. A few weeks ago,
fellow Frenchman Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan signed a similar extension. As for Rasmus "Caps" Winther, the cornerstone of every G2 project since 2019, the European legend remains under contract until 2027. The two other members of the reigning three-time LEC champion roster, Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik and Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis, currently find themselves in the same position Hans sama occupied days ago, with contracts set to expire at the end of the year, according to the
Global Contract Database.
The 2027 offseason had been shaping up to be particularly eventful in the LEC, as every AD Carry in the league was originally scheduled to become a free agent in November. With this extension, G2 become the third organization to secure its starting ADC for next season. Team Heretics recently signed
midway through the year and is expected to field him from the Summer Split onward. Karmine Corp, meanwhile, announced several weeks ago the extension of its franchise player,
, a player in whom G2 had previously shown interest,
as reported by Sheep Esports.
Having already won everything there is to win in Europe—including a domestic Golden Road in 2024—Hans Sama and G2 still have one box left to tick if their story together is to be complete: lifting an international trophy. The AD Carry came closest a few months ago when G2 reached the grand final of First Stand 2026, notably eliminating Gen.G with a stunning 3-0 victory in the semifinals. That breakthrough now appears within reach, and the Samurai will have another opportunity to achieve it in a few weeks' time at the Mid-Season Invitational in Daejeon, South Korea.
