Having steadily grown in stature throughout 2025, Rudy “
SkewMond” Semaan has convinced
G2 Esports’ management. The Franco-Lebanese jungler’s contract, which had been due to expire on 16 November 2026, has therefore been extended by two years, until
20 November 2028. Quietly revealed through an update
to the Global Contract Database, the extension was confirmed this Thursday by sources close to
Sheep Esports.Joining the Samurai in the winter of 2025, SkewMond was initially tasked with the difficult responsibility of succeeding Martin "Yike" Sundelin. G2 were coming off a flawless domestic 2024 campaign, completing a local “Golden Road” with all three split titles and the Season Finals trophy. While the early stages of G2’s new roster — which had also opted to change support — proved somewhat laboured during the 2025 Winter Split, the former BDS Academy prospect gradually established himself within the collective of Europe’s most successful organization.
An exceptional summer
Following a more convincing Spring Split, SkewMond first took part in his two debut international events, the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup. After testing himself against the world’s elite, he returned to the LEC visibly transformed, as G2 reclaimed their standing. The jungler in particular delivered an outstanding playoff run, earning MVP honours in all three series that carried G2 to their Summer title — the first Tier 1 trophy of his career.
Shortly thereafter,
SkewMond competed at his first World Championship. While G2 managed to reach the playoffs for the first time in three years,
SkewMond left an even stronger impression through his Dr. Mundo pick, which was subsequently adopted by several of the world’s top junglers. Despite a quarterfinal exit, G2 had no intention of changing junglers, even with Kacper "
Inspired" Słoma available on the market, as Romain Bigeard
had previously explained to Sheep Esports.
SkewMond = Oner
“I believe SkewMond is better [than Inspired], and that everyone will see it by the end of 2026,” said the club’s General Manager.
“SkewMond and Labrov (Labros Papoutsakis
) are the best at their roles in Europe, and 2025 didn’t change my mind, because they all fit very well with the rest.” That confidence has now been formalized through this two-year extension.
SkewMond is currently the player with the longest contract in the entire LEC, and the only one whose deal runs through 2028, according to the GCD — though Javier “
Elyoya” Prades' contract with Movistar KOI, running to 2027,
has an additional one-year extension clause tied to the achievement of specific objectives.
By comparison, in the LCS, nearly the entire Cloud9 roster is signed through 2028 , still according to the GCD, as is FlyQuest support Micheal "
Cryogen" Luu. In the LCK, T1
Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun and
Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan are the only players among the leading teams whose contracts also extend to 2028. It should be noted that during offseason periods, contracts can be bought out by other organizations for a fee. From a team’s perspective, the longer a player’s contract, the higher the buyout required to acquire him.
