Breaking the glass ceiling and finally securing a top-four finish in the
League of Legends EMEA Championship this Summer Split, that is the goal for
Team Vitality. To achieve it, the organization has made a roster change, benching Czech midlaner Marek "
" Brázda and replacing him with the roster's first Korean import, Lee "
" Sang-ho.
The coaching staff has also undergone a change, with Luka "Lukezy" Trumbić parting ways with the organization. He will be replaced by Bjørn-Vegar "Hansen" Hansen, former assistant coach at Movistar KOI.
The rest of the roster remains unchanged, with
Spring Split MVP Kaan "
" Okan in the toplane, Linas "
" Nauncikas in the jungle, AD Carry Matyáš "
" Orság, and Support Labros "
" Papoutsakis.
Continuity Amid Change
Following the announcement of FIESTA's arrival in the Hive, Head Coach Patrick "
Pad" Suckow-Breum shared
more insight into the move. He described the Korean midlaner as a player with many of the same strengths as Humanoid and "
a very self-sufficient, mechanically gifted player who can progress the map, who teamfights very well."
Pad also commented on the addition of Hansen, saying: "Who will come in and bring a lot of experience and structure for drafts and scouting." With an eight-man staff now assembled in Berlin, Team Vitality will be looking to finally break through the ceiling of recent splits and, above all, translate their promising regular season performances into a deep playoff run.
A Return to Tier 1 for FIESTA
At just 23 years old, FIESTA is set to make his LEC debut, but this is far from his first experience at the Tier 1 level. He began his professional career in the LCK AS in 2020 before joining Nongshim RedForce's Challengers roster, where he won the LCK CL Summer title in 2022. Between then and 2024, FIESTA was called up to NS' LCK roster on multiple occasions.
Over the course of his time in Korea's top division, FIESTA played a total of 81 LCK games, winning 19 of them for a 23% win rate. His three most-played champions are Ahri (39 games), Azir (37 games), and Corki (30 games).
In Summer 2024, FIESTA moved to Türkiye to join Papara SuperMassive. During his stint there, he won the TCL and reached the EMEA Masters quarterfinals twice before returning to South Korea in 2026 to play for BNK FEARX Youth. However, his first two splits back in Korea did not go particularly well.
Learning from the Spring Split
If there's one thing Vitality need to review, it's what happened during the last LEC Spring Split. They put together an almost flawless regular season, finishing 8-1, only to collapse in the playoffs with back-to-back defeats to KOI and GIANTX.
The Bees came crashing back down to earth. After looking like genuine contenders for an MSI spot and a return to the top of the European scene, they ultimately had to settle for a fifth-place finish.
The Summer Split will get underway on July 24 with the LEC Roadtrip in Paris hosted by Karmine Corp, where Team Vitality will face KC, G2 Esports, and Movistar KOI in what promises to be a brutal opening slate, and a spectacular start to the split.
A 3-0 start could give Vitality all the momentum they need, while an 0-3 record would put them under immediate pressure. Those first three matches could go a long way toward shaping the course of their season and their hopes for the remainder of the year.
