Team Heretics are expected to sign Sergio "AtomiK" Cortés, Lautaro "ajg" Gusinsky, and Iván "Dorito" Jiménez for the Rocket League Club Championship after receiving an invite to join the competition. The trio competed under Mate y Tapa at the 2026 World Championship having reached the competition through the European LCQ. They also competed under PCS Stride during the Esports World Cup. Team Heretics targeted AtomiK early on into the offseason, with the 22-year-old settling on his World Championship teammates. The team’s coach Pedro "armonik" Palau announced on October 6 that he was looking for a new team.
The Spanish speaking trio formed as a team in June 2026, with their primary focus to compete for the last European slot at the 2026 World Championship in the Last Chance Qualifier. Ajg and Dorito were already a duo, having competed under the name Synergy since November 2024. AtomiK joined the team after playing with a number of professionals during the regular season, with his last Regional Open appearance coming alongside Liam "yujin" Daillac and Bruno Alexandre "AcroniK." dos Santos Lopes. The roster represents a budget option for organization making their first splash into the scene.
Upon the announcement of the RLCS Club Championship, Team Heretics decided to pursue a team in Rocket League Esports for the first time. The Spanish organization has over a million followers on X and is backed by sizable content creators from Spain. The organization did take an earlier interest in the esport, having enquired about the former [REDACTED] roster featuring Jayden "2Piece" Horton, Dylan "Wahvey" Thanus, and Cohen "Tawk" Hawco before they signed with Virtus.pro ahead of the 2026 Boston Major. They currently field teams in multiple esports titles including: Call of Duty (Miami Heretics), Rainbow Six Siege and significantly, League of Legends, where they own a franchise slot. The organization tends towards a Spanish focus, but is no stranger to an international lineup.
