"No one thought, 'We're in different time zones'" — Perticoz explains Karmine Corp's alleged scrim delay after Jojopyun's callout
Jojopyun called out Karmine Corp for allegedly being an hour late to scrims ahead of Worlds 2026. However, former CEO Arthur Perticoz later explained that a time zone mix-up between Los Angeles and Texas was the reason behind this confusion.

On October 13, Movistar KOI midlaner Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun jokingly called out Karmine Corp for allegedly being an hour late to scrims ahead of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship, especially with the Play-In stage starting on October 15. “Hey Karmine Corp, CalisteLoL, Reapered, Zeph_LoL, Cardonetti1 being an hour late to scrims in the most important tournament of the year is unacceptable, how do you expect to beat C9 with this attitude, i’m deeply disgusted 🤢 🤮,” the player tweeted.
The tongue-in-cheek jab quickly blew up, surpassing 20,000 likes and one million impressions, and prompted a playful response from Karmine Corp staff, with the team's assistant coach, Quentin "Zeph" Viguié, calling Jojopyun a “fanboy.”
Arthur Perticoz Explains The Delay
Former Karmine Corp CEO Arthur Perticoz, who remains close to the organization, offered an explanation during his stream on October 14, turning the apparent controversy into a funny incident. According to Perticoz, Movistar KOI was in Texas while Karmine Corp was in FlyQuest HQ in Los Angeles, and those organising the scrims had failed to account for the time difference between the two locations. He added that, based on the information he had received, everyone had arrived on time, just not at the same local time.
“Don't panic, KOI would be in Texas, and we would be in LA. No one thought, ‘We're not in different time zone.’ That's it, friends, that's it. It's not more complicated than that. According to what I was told, I guess it's true. I don't see why anyone would lie to me. So everyone was on time; it's just that we weren't in the same time zone. That's it. What do you want me to tell you? I'm telling you because it's too funny,” he stated on stream.
An established LEC meme
Jojopyun's post follows a similar format to GIANTX midlaner Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek’ tweets, who has repeatedly called out teams for allegedly being late to scrims throughout the 2026 season. This suggests that Jojopyun was playing along with an established LEC meme rather than attempting to spark a new controversy.
However, his criticism of Karmine Corp also gave fans an opportunity to poke fun at his own history with punctuality. Jojopyun's departure from Cloud9 in September 2024 remains a talking point in the community. At the time, former professional LoL player Christian "IWillDominate" Rivera, who is currently Cloud9's head coach, claimed that the midlaner had been fired following 43 instances of tardiness.
Worlds are coming
Since Movistar KOI finished second — defeating KC in the Lower Bracket Final — in the 2026 LEC Summer Split, it has earned a direct qualification to the Swiss Stage of the World Championship. KC, on the other hand, will have to first fight its way through the Play-In stage and will open its campaign against LCS third seed Cloud9 on October 15.
The Play-In stage will follow a double-elimination format, with only one team advancing to join the Swiss Stage organisations. All matches will be best-of-five series played under the Fearless Draft format.
