Dignitas Extend Denathor Through 2028, First Player Confirmed for 2027 Roster

have announced a contract extension for their American toplaner Noah “” Erikson, keeping him with the organization through 2028 and confirming him as the first piece of the team’s 2027 roster. Denathor was originally contracted through the end of 2027 and has now received an additional year, officially kicking off the offseason for the North American organization.

Denathor joined Dignitas for the 2026 Summer Split from Winthrop University, where he had been competing in the NACL. However, his first LCS split did not go as planned, with Dignitas finishing the regular season 0-7 and securing just three wins overall, against Cloud9, Sentinels, and Shopify Rebellion.

Dignitas’ roster is largely still under contract heading into the offseason. Denathor has just been extended through 2028, while midlaner Cristian “” Palafox, AD carry Victor “” Huang, and support Lee “” Dong-geun are all contracted through the end of 2027, according to the Global Contract Database. Head Coach Simon “Swiffer” Papamarkos is also under contract through the same period.

In the jungle, Dignitas had two players under contract. Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett’s deal expires at the end of this year, while Lawrence Lin “eXyu” Xu was originally contracted through 2027. However, after being benched, eXyu announced his retirement from competitive League of Legends.

Following the contract extension announcement, fan reactions in the comments were overwhelmingly positive. LCS caster Barento “Raz” Mohammed also reacted to the news, writing: “Best part of the Denathor announcement is quite literally how fast the decision was made.” NACL caster Leo “Slayer” Silverman added: “I’m so happy man, congratulations Denathor and DIG!!”

Denathor began his competitive career in 2022 and has spent most of his career competing in North American League of Legends circuits with Winthrop University. Before returning to the LCS for the 2027 season, his next challenge will be representing the United States in a BO5 against South Korea as part of the latter’s preparation for the Asian Games. He will therefore have the opportunity to face Choi “Zeus” Woo-je on September 19.
