Brazil and Chile lock in their place at the FIFAe Finals 2026

Brazil and Chile have secured qualification to the Rocket League 2026 FIFAe World Cup Finals after dominating the South American Continental Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil were the eventual winners of the event, demolishing Bolivia 4-0 in the semi finals, before facing Chile in a more even matchup for the grand final. They proved too much to handle for Chile, defeating them in another 4-0 series. Despite fielding a strong squad with RLCS experience, Argentina crumbled against Chile in the semi finals, bowing out in 3rd-4th and missing out on qualification. Brazil and Chile join Australia, Jordan and Oman in reaching the FIFAe World Cup this weekend.

The Brazil national team featuring Yan Bernardo "yANXNZ" Xisto Nolasco, Gabriel "Lostt." Souza Buzon and Pedro Henrique "swiftt." Lewy Gomes were the overwhelming favourites coming into the South American Continental Championship. The trio compete under the FURIA banner in the RLCS, recently qualifying for the 2026 World Championship together as the first seed from South America. They represented Brazil in the 2025 FIFAe World Cup, earning a top-four finish with wins over Germany, Italy, and England before they were eventually knocked out by Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals. With only four teams competing in the Continental Championships for two slots, qualification was almost a formality, Brazil secured the playoff first seed with a 3-3-0 record in the group stage, setting up a comfortable match versus Bolivia, who had lost every single series in the event. The Brazilians outscored their opponents 20-2, qualifying for the FIFAe World Cup Finals for a third time.

RLCS veteran Victor "Reysbull" Duran Parra headlined a Chile roster featuring Ignacio "nachosky" García and Sebastián Andrés "pan" Parra Castillo. They faced a harder route to the FIFAe Main Event. While they matched Brazil’s group stage record, they were only the second seed heading into the playoffs, where they went up against an Lautaro "ajg" Gusinsky-led Argentina squad. After drawing once in the group stage, many fans expected the series to be a closely fought affair. However, Chile brought their A-game, brushing aside their Argentinian counterparts in a 4-0 win to qualify for the FIFAe Main Event. While Chile has competed at the two previous FIFAe World Cups, this time 21-year-old David "Davitrox" Gárate Valdebenito makes way for the talented nachosky, who featured heavily for free-agent roster Emerald in RLCS 2026. Argentina, who earned a top-12 finish in the 2024 edition of the tournament, will now miss out on the event for a second successive time.

The Esports Nations Cup, which was going to take place in Riyadh, the city that has hosted the previous two editions of the FIFAe World Cup, was recently forced to postpone its inaugural event to 2027, due to the worsening crisis surrounding the Iran War. Its sister event, the Esports World Cup, relocated its two-month long tournament to Paris earlier this year, with the Rocket League edition concluding on August 16. While FIFAe continues to push forward with its Continental Championships, there has yet to be any official confirmation of the location of the FIFAe World Finals, which are set to take place in October.
