Way and nuc receive warnings for unbecoming conduct during final LEC Summer regular season week

After an eventful last few days, the LEC 2026 Summer regular season has concluded, with four teams now headed to Madrid and two more remaining in the lower bracket. Still, it was, somewhat unexpectedly, the match between and , the bottom two teams of the split, that caught the attention of many on Friday.

With Shifters already eliminated and Team Heretics clinging to an unlikely path to the playoffs, the two teams took to the rift with smiles and plenty of energy, having nothing to lose. What started as banter quickly reached a point, which Riot has now seemingly decided things had gone too far. Though unconfirmed, it is likely that the decision was made notably due to obscene gestures made by some of the players, which went viral on social media.

As a result, Team Heretics support and Shifters midlaner have officially been issued warnings for their behavior, both of which will expire one year from now, on August 30, 2027. Neither player will receive a fine for the time being.

Strangely enough, this is not the first time this year that the LEC has had to reprimand players for their behavior. Earlier this year, both and , as well as , received fines during the league’s Spring Roadtrip for similar reasons to those behind nuc and Way’s warnings. At the time, it was speculated that Jojopyun in particular had been reprimanded for his language during an interview, while the two organizations were likely fined over their public feud on social media.

Nevertheless, as these are Way and nuc’s first infractions, neither player has received a fine for the time being, getting away with just a warning. These warnings, however, are unlikely to have much long-term impact, notably as both teams have now been eliminated and are expected to undergo major roster restructuring ahead of the 2027 season. nuc, in particular, has already announced that this split would be his last for the time being, as he aims to take a break from his professional career.

Throughout the weekend, other players also took part in Shifters’ antics, interacting on camera and screaming at each other, bringing even more hype to the league. Among them, , who handed Shifters their last loss in the LEC, also played along, with and both screaming at the top of their lungs throughout their match. None of these interactions, however, were deemed to have gone far enough to warrant warnings of their own.

In a follow-up tweet, midlaner nuc, who has now been given a warning, notably stated, “we do an entertainment job and I think we make it a bit too serious when it comes to our careers.” He then continued, “we should be able to combine [fun and seriousness] because it makes the matches so much more lively for you and for us.” His response, as well as the action throughout the weekend, has of course generated much appreciation from fans on social media, who celebrated a more lively LEC than usual thanks to Shifters’ presence.
