A fresh start for Proxh in 2027

Yusuf Emre "Proxh" Tunc is set to join Barça eSports for the 2027 VCT season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. The German-Turkish Controller previously played for Gentle Mates, across two stints, and Enterprise Esports, achieving a 5th-8th place finish in the Esports World Cup 2026 with the former.
Ever since his time with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025, Proxh has been regarded as one of the more promising talents from the EMEA Challengers scene. However, he has failed to live up to this potential with Gentle Mates in VCT EMEA. Perhaps a fresh start with Barça and a revamped VCT system could allow the 23-year-old to shine in 2027.
Still chasing a breakout
Proxh has had an up-and-down career so far in the VCT circuit. He has regularly posted monstrous numbers in the EMEA Challengers scene with teams like Eintracht Frankfurt and Enterprise Esports. These standout performances helped him secure two runs with Gentle Mates, the first during Stage 2 2025 and the second in Stage 2 2026. In his first foray with Gentle Mates, the team infamously had a 0-5 record after repeatedly throwing massive round leads against many teams. Proxh proved himself to be a solid and stable role player but never attracted as much attention as many expected, given his crisp mechanics.
His second stint with Gentle Mates was better in terms of overall results, as he reached the Esports World Cup playoffs, losing to the eventual runners-up NRG. However, Stage 2 ended in disappointment as Gentle Mates were eliminated early at the hands of Proxh’s former team, Eintracht Frankfurt. Once again, Proxh never really stood out despite being a star player for Enterprise Esports for most of 2026.
Barça eSports signing him for the 2027 season gives Proxh another chance to prove himself worthy of being a top Controller in the region. The organization is also expected to sign Duelist Mohammad “Pa1ze” Khatib and retain in-game leader Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego for the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour season, which introduces a system that gives any team, partnered or non-partnered, a chance to qualify for international events.
