Epic Games has announced a
new revenue sharing bundle for teams and players attending the
Rocket League 2026 World Championship. The bundle, which will be available from September 1 to September 23, offers three items including the
Head Turner Universal Decal, the
Primetime Wheels, and the
Blue Chip Boost. Consumers will be able to acquire the bundle for 1,100 credits, which can be purchased in the item shop for $9.99
. This new item bundle follows the success of the Paris Major bundle, which raised $550,000 for players and teams that attended the event.
The company has also announced changes to the distribution of funds raised by the net sales of the bundle. 70% of the net sales from the bundle will be split between the 20 teams vying for the title at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, based on the placement of each team at the event. 30% of the net sales will be distributed between individual players based on accolades they can win at the event, including Tournament MVP, Finals MVP, and Breakthrough Performance. These awards will be determined by a panel from BLAST and Epic Games. Another nine awards will be handed out to the top three statistical leaders for highest average goals per game (Best Striker), highest average assists per game (Best Playmaker), and most saves per goal allowed (Best Saviour).
Welcomed adjustments
While the
revenue sharing scheme introduced for the Paris Major was an overall success, many questions were raised over the uneven distribution of the net sales from the bundle. For the Paris Major, 50% of the entire net sales of the bundle went to only three players: Cristian "
crr" Raigal, Ole "
oaly." Door, and Nick "
Chronic" Iwanski, who all earned $91,657.50 each. These players were the three statistical leaders from the event based on the highest average goals per game, highest average assists per game, and most saves per goal allowed. These are respectable categories on paper, but due to lack of sample size, these stats are easily inflated based on the nature of games the players competed in.
For example, the Ninjas in Pyjamas duo, crr and oaly, who were awarded Best Striker and Best Playmaker, respectively, won only one series during the entire tournament defeating TSM 3-0 and outscoring their opponents 13-6 in a one-sided affair. Across the three other series they competed in, they did not win a single game but were still ranked high enough statistically to earn over $180,000 from the Paris Major bundle. A player like Axel "Vatira" Touret, who was second for average goals per game with 0.93, played over double the amount of games of his winning counterpart, crr, and even won the event with Karmine Corp, but he did not see a single penny from the individual portion of the sales.
In this new edition of the bundle for the RLCS 2026 World Championship, three players from the top eight placing teams at the event who lead the rankings for each statistical category will now earn a share of the net sales. On top of that, three more players will be awarded portions of the bundle sales based on the judgement of a committee put together by BLAST and Epic Games, who will determine the overall tournament MVP, the MVP in the grand finals, and the player who had the most impressive breakout during the event. This means that up to twelve players, could earn their own individual portion of the bundle sales. These changes, combined with the overall split distribution being adjusted to 30% for individual awards and 70% for the 20 teams in attendance, mean that more players will see a return and it will not be as lopsided as the Paris Major bundle.
In conjunction with the revenue-sharing bundle, Epic Games also announced a World Championship Limited Time Event, where challenges can be completed by players in the game to earn up to six rewards. Players can also acquire up to 14 items by watching Rocket League on Twitch or TikTok.
