"The most surprising thing so far is that the gap between me and my opponents is not as big as I thought"
. Still, their run at Worlds 2026 is not yet over, as the team now prepares to climb back up the lower bracket by facing the very same Brazilian representatives they beat on day one.
In an exclusive interview, MVK's rising star AD Carry
sat down with Sheep Esports to discuss his path to professional play and the team's jungle substitution before delivering a warning to his opponents.
You are coming out a 0-3 loss against Karmine Corp. What went wrong in the match and what could you have done better?
Nguyễn "Harky" Văn Hữu: “It has been a pretty bad showing from us today. If I could do it all over again, I think I would be a bit calmer during the game.
Were you surprised by the Draven matchup in game one, and how much had you practiced it in scrims?
Harky: We had practiced this matchup a lot in scrims, so we knew how to play this matchup. It wasn't a surprise.
In game two, Lê "SanSan" Quốc Khánh was swapped in as jungler. How did you feel about the substitution, and why did the team decide to make the change?
Harky: I just followed my coach's decision. He said that he wanted to try different things in the new jungle. I think mostly the decision was so that every jungler gets a chance to show themselves at Worlds. I think it's a pretty normal decision.
From an outside perspective, the substitution was surprising given that SanSan had never played a match with the main team.
Harky: It wasn’t really that surprising because ever since we qualified for Worlds, the two of them have been sharing scrims every game. For me, SanSan’s results in scrims were pretty good, and I also thought he could be the key to giving us a victory against KC. He has a pretty high mechanical level. He knows how to run the game, and he is also a pretty young and aspiring player.
How do you feel about your start at Worlds and the expectations placed on you as a future Vietnamese AD carry?
Harky: I'm very happy to hear that people are talking about my debut at Worlds. When I heard that people saw me as the future of Vietnamese AD Carries, I was also pretty happy. It is quite a motivation for me.
What has surprised you most about your first international event at Worlds?
Harky: The most surprising aspect that I’ve noticed is that the gap between me and my opponents is not as big as I thought. They're just slightly stronger or weaker.
How did you get into esports, and what was your journey from being a regular gamer to becoming a professional player?
Harky: I was just a normal gamer like everyone else. I was playing, as I always do, when someone reached out asking if I wanted to become a real professional, and I took his invitation. That’s how it all began.
Do you still have friends and family back home who support you and watch your games?
Harky: Yes, I do. My mom and my older sister support me.
How did your family come to support your decision to pursue esports as a career?
Harky: At first, they were not exactly supportive of this. But after a while, I started making a decent and stable income out of it, and they started to support me. These days, whenever I play, I still send them the YouTube link to my games every time.
How do you feel about facing either FUR or C9 in your next match?
Harky: I don’t care who we face. We’ll come out on top either way.”
Editorial Note: Harky will, in fact, be facing FURIA following the North American representatives' defeat against them.
