"When we face [KRÜ Blaze], we’re definitely going to win"

MIBR GC have had a fantastic start in front of their home crowd in São Paulo at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 (GCC). The team has secured back-to-back clean sweeps against FENNEL Female and G2 Gozen to set up a showdown against Gentle Mates GC in the upper bracket semifinals. MIBR GC have yet to drop a map in the tournament and are making a strong case as early contenders for the trophy.
After MIBR GC’s victory against the EMEA champions G2 Gozen, Sheep Esports had the opportunity to chat with veteran GC player and LATAM GC legend Constanza “conir” Reyes.
It was a close series, so what are your initial thoughts after the match?
Constanza “conir” Reyes: “This victory was a bit close but I’m happy and still full of adrenaline.
MIBR had an 8-4 lead on Ascent and Lotus, but had issues closing them out cleanly. What were some of the struggles MIBR faced in the second half of both maps?
conir: More than anything, it was the lack of information. We lost it a little bit and gave up unnecessary space. We had a lot of adrenaline and anxiety which ended up resulting in us doing some bad mistakes like being late on rotates.
As you mentioned the problem with information at times, why is Chamber being prioritized so little at this event? He was very popular in Champions 2026…
conir: I really feel like teams within VCT Game Changers are not that adaptable to Chamber’s playstyle. You need to have this aggression and confidence, and I don’t really feel like we see that here in GC, especially with the confidence and understanding of the macro. It’s different from tier-one VCT because there isn’t that confidence, which is resulting in the difference in compositions between Game Changers and VCT.
You had been with KRÜ Blaze since 2022 until this year. What made you want to play in Brazil’s GC scene after being the face of LATAM GC for a long time?
conir: It’s been a very different change, but it wasn’t my decision or priority to change teams and regions. However, the new changes to the KRÜ Blaze roster kind of left me out. The decision was in front of me to move to a different project, and MIBR contacted me. I felt like this change was very needed. My four years with KRÜ Blaze were good and gave me a lot of versatility. However, with this much-needed change, I can really show my game.
Are you happy to see the new KRÜ Blaze roster, and especially Lorena “micaela” Ferreyra doing well in GCC so far? Do you think they can make a deep run?
conir: Partly, I’m very happy for them, but as a rival, I’m not. I’m happy for micaela as she was my teammate for a long time. She’s performing well, and I know what she is capable of, and that she can show even more, but I don’t want her to win as she’s my rival! I know they are going to have a run, but when we face them, we’re definitely going to win.
The 2027 Kickoff open qualifiers start just a few days after GCC ends, with Bind and Corrode being added. It’s quite a disadvantage for GC teams, so what are your thoughts on this situation?
conir: It’s the same situation with the Game Changers playoffs where the dates are not aligned with our calendar. There’s the problem that we don’t have enough time to prepare. Working on the map pool for GCC and going straight into the Kickoff qualifiers is definitely not an advantage for us to be able to come in and have some breathing room. We have to try, and a lot of other teams will have to try as well. Therefore, there is nothing much to do but try.”
