Lucid extends his contract with Dplus Kia until 2027

Good news continues to arrive for fans. Following their reverse-sweep victory over T1 in the LCK Cup lower-bracket semifinal, DK have extended the contract of the series’ MVP for an additional year. will now remain with the organization through the end of 2027, as announced by the team on social media this Wednesday.

The 21-year-old jungler joined the organization’s academy system at the end of 2020 before making his LCK debut at the start of 2024. His tenure with Dplus Kia, therefore, appears far from over, as he joins support and toplaner among the players currently contracted through 2027, according to the Global Contract Database.

Promoted to the main roster in 2024, Lucid faced the considerable challenge of succeeding at just 19 years of age. In only a few seasons—and despite results that have not always aligned with supporters’ expectations—he has steadily earned the backing of the fanbase through consistently high-level displays.

Although at times marked by inconsistency and occasional in-game errors despite his evident mechanical ability, Lucid recently repaid that support with a standout performance against T1 in the LCK Cup lower-bracket semifinal. Clinical in smite situations and decisive in tipping the balance in DK’s favor, he was a natural choice for series MVP honors.

Speaking on stream after the match, Lucid was met with an outpouring of appreciation from fans urging him to stay. “Even when we were losing to the top teams, you never abandoned us. How could I ever leave you?” he responded. He reiterated those sentiments on camera in the announcement video of his contract extension published on Dplus Kia’s YouTube channel.

Currently sitting in the top three of the LCK Cup, Lucid and Dplus Kia will face in the lower-bracket final in Hong Kong this Saturday, with a place at First Stand on the line and the prospect of a rematch against in the tournament final.
