League Classic Council opens first community vote

The Council is here. League of Legends Classic is putting its community at the forefront of the mode's future, acting as a spiritual successor to the old Tribunal—but this time with the goal of driving positive change and letting players help shape Classic in the direction they want.

The first community poll went live on August 26 and will remain available until September 2. Players can access it through the Council button in the LoL client via the Classic tab, with each point of voting power granting one vote on every question. Players can also change their answers at any point before the poll closes. Riot says the results will be published in the Patch Notes once voting has concluded.

The Council is designed to give the League Classic community a greater say in how the mode evolves. According to Riot, questions will generally fall into two categories: Sentiment, which helps developers identify areas that may need investigation or improvement, and Binding, where the results will determine which approach Riot takes.

The first poll covers several aspects of League Classic, ranging from game length and snowballing to item revivals and map features.

The second question asks players to decide when a League Classic game becomes excessively long:

Riot is also asking the community which of three items should be revived in League Classic:

Each individual item that receives more than 50% of the vote will be added to Classic. Players can therefore vote for all three if they want every item to return.

Another question focuses on jungle timers and whether Classic should adopt the modern system.

Riot is also revisiting base gates, which were originally introduced at the start of Season 5 to give defending teams another way to protect their base without relying on stronger comeback mechanics.

Finally, Riot is asking the community to decide which critters should appear on each side of the river. Two new critters are being added, with one spawning at the top of the river and another at the bottom.

The first option represents the top river critter, while the second represents the bottom one.

The first poll is intended to establish how Riot's new community-driven system will work going forward. Players do not have to answer every question and can skip topics on which they do not have an opinion.

Riot has not yet revealed how frequently future Council polls will be held, but the system is intended to give the Classic community a more direct role in shaping the mode.

For now, eligible players have until September 2 to submit their votes. Riot will reveal the results after the poll closes in its Patch Notes.
