LCS 2027 Promotion Tournament: Five-Team Introduction

The 2026 League of Legends season is reaching its fever pitch, but some regions have started to define details ahead of the 2027 competitive season. The 2027 Promotion Tournament will qualify one of five hopeful competitors for North America’s premier competition: the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS).

For consecutive years, will look to defend its Guest Slot against a slurry of contenders from the North American Challengers League and Latin America North’s Liga Regional Norte. The Promotion Tournament will run from October 5th to October 12th, with an in-person LAN Finals at Arena Esports Stadium at CINEMEX Artz Pedregal, the same venue as LCS Homegrounds: Mexico City.

Disguised had a promising start to the 2026 season. They finished Lock-In’s regular season 2-1, pushed to a 5-game series, and showed some potential the public overlooked. However, its positive momentum didn’t carry into the rest of the season. In Spring, they beat only and Sentinels, narrowly missing the playoffs.

Summer wasn’t the turnaround the team expected. They avoided a winless split by beating Dignitas again, but were eliminated from playoff contention after Week 5. The 2026 NACL Summer Playoffs haven’t crowned a champion, but arrived at the final through the Winner’s side of the bracket. The organization acquired Supernova’s spot and assembled a roster that blends LCS experience with promising, up-and-coming talent. They finished the regular season 4-1.

As an organization, Cupid has been pushing for promotion through multiple avenues. Before they acquired their current NACL slot, they failed to qualify through NACL’s own Promotion Tournament, but qualified for LRN’s Split 2 before they gave up their slot. After several splits in a merger, this season marked the return of one of the most dominant League of Legends collegiate programs to the NACL circuit. returned with great expectations thanks to a roster full of former LCS players. However, the team flamed out early in the Spring Playoffs. The 2026 CLoL champion decided to renovate its roster before the Summer Split.

Several road bumps forced the team to play with a substitute, including Head Coach Niles, and saw them on a seesaw throughout the regular season. However, playoffs are a different beast, and Maryville knows how to handle the pressure. They eliminated their eternal rival, , and will play against Cupid Esports for a shot at the NACL title. Ever since the inaugural LRN season, has been a Latin American North perennial powerhouse. In three years competing in the LRN, the Colombian-Curaçaoan organization’s worst finish is third place. They’ve tried different combinations, employing Korean imports and giving a platform to up-and-coming Latin American players.

The current roster finished LRN’s Split 2 Regular Season 6-1 and leveraged its experience in the final to win the split. This roster has historic players from the defunct LLA and a couple of Latam Tier 2 mainstays. Will Latin America continue their incursion into North American territory? For the inexperienced fan, is one of Colombia’s most historic esports organizations. After not being selected for the inaugural LRN season, Z5 qualified for the premier competition in LATAM North in 2025. They’ve been grinding since their return.

Z5 brought back two Colombian solo lane legends and went guns blazing into LRN’s Split 2. They finished the season undefeated but stumbled at the finish line, losing to eternal rivals Fuego. This roster mixes some of the most-tenured and talented players in LRN’s history with a couple of rookies eager to prove themselves.
