FIFAe has announced that its World Finals for the
FIFAe World Cup 2026 will take place in
Jeddah, the second largest city in Saudi Arabia, from October 16 to October 25. For the past two years, the FIFAe World Cup was hosted in the capital of Saudi Arabia,
Riyadh, the central location for the nation’s esports pursuits. 16 nations teams from the
Rocket League scene which have been competing through the Continental Championships will travel to Jeddah to battle it out for the FIFAe 2026 trophy.
The announcement comes following weeks of uncertainty over the location of the World Finals. The inaugural Esports Nations Cup, which was set to take place from November 2 in the same traditional location as the FIFAe World Cup, was postponed to 2027 amid the geopolitical situation surrounding the Iran War in the Middle East. Its sister event, the Esports World Cup, which has been hosted by Riyadh since its inception in 2024, was also forced to relocate to Paris this year due to the crisis. As a result, there were questions over whether the FIFAe World Finals would be cancelled despite the Continental Championships going ahead in five cities across August. The new host city, Jeddah, is far removed from the conflict in Iran due to its location on the Red Sea, representing a safer destination for teams to travel to and compete in.
