FENNEL Female have eliminated Gen.G GC from the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2026 after defeating them 2-1 in the lower bracket. With this win, they are now the only Pacific team remaining in the tournament and will be going up against SK Nebula in their next matchup.
Moreover, this was also a revenge game for FLGC after their defeat to Gen.G GC in the Game Changers Pacific Grand Final. After FENNEL Female’s victory, Sheep Esports interviewed their controller, Sarina "Moco" Kawashima, to discuss her experience in Brazil so far, her health issues, the decision to pick Sunset, and more.
How do you feel after getting your revenge against Gen.G GC?
Sarina "Moco" Kawashima: “I'm very, very happy about today's win.
You recently tweeted that you wanted to get used to this environment. Now that you've played a few matches at GCC, do you feel more comfortable?
Moco: Yes, I'm getting used to competing on the global stage, but I still have a lot to learn about offline events. Sometimes, it's difficult to adjust to playing on stage after a long trip, so that's something I need to work on. Overall, I think I'm performing well, and I'm happy about that.
Your new agent composition on Ascent didn't work well against MIBR. What did you change in your playstyle this time to get such a dominant win against Gen.G GC?
Moco: We had a two-day break after losing to MIBR, so we focused on Ascent during practice and worked on fixing our mistakes. I think those adjustments paid off. We also knew what to expect from Gen.G, which was one of the reasons we were able to beat them today.
Sunset has been one of your least successful maps recently, yet you picked it against Gen.G over maps where you have a better win rate. What was the reasoning behind that decision?
Moco: Our win rate on Sunset during practice is quite high, so we don't consider it a bad map. We lost on the map because of issues with our micro play and individual performances. We know what went wrong, so we're confident about choosing it.
You've said that you admire G2 Gozen's playstyle. What do you like most about it?
Moco: I've learned a lot from G2's playstyle, especially how they approach situations when they have a numbers disadvantage. Their individual plays are very composed, and they take their time rather than rushing. I think their playstyle is graceful, which is why I admire them and try to learn from them.
Who's your favourite G2 Gozen player?
Moco: mimi (Michaela Lintrup) and Akita (Esllene Xu).
You recently revealed that you experienced health issues, including migraines, after Bali, and the medication wasn't helping as well. How are you feeling now?
Moco: I still have a cough when I talk. Otherwise, I'm physically fine, but I cough a lot during matches, which sometimes leads to communication errors. I’d really love to get rid of this cough as soon as possible.
FENNEL are now the only Pacific team remaining at GCC after Gen.G's elimination. Do you feel any added pressure to represent the region?
Moco: Yes, there's some pressure. However, for now, I want to reach the playoffs and I want to make it to the final four for Gen.G, since we knocked them out. I also want to return to the stage, compete against teams from other regions, and win.
This is your second GCC appearance but your first time in Brazil. How has your experience in São Paulo been so far?
Moco: Before coming here, people told me that São Paulo is kind of a dangerous place, so I was told to be careful. However, I've enjoyed my time here. The food is good, and everyone I've met has been generous and kind. I’m really enjoying my stay here!
What's the best food you've tried in Brazil so far?
Moco: The steak I had at the hotel. It was good.”
