Hong Kong appoints the same roster for Esports Nations Cup as for Asian Games

This past Thursday, the League of Legends rosters for the 2026 Esports Nations Cup were revealed. Team Hong Kong was the favorite to claim one of the two slots from the Asian Online Qualifier and the national team delivered, claiming the first slot. The Strength sits in 24th place of the Nations Ranking, 19 places above the Japanese National Team, their closest regional opponent. Hong Kong was eager to meet Team China, Team South Korea, Team Vietnam, and Team Chinese Taipei, who were directly invited based on their respective nations’ rankings.

This roster is led by LCP's Ground Zero Gaming Head Coach Wong "Skywalk" John Chun Him. Skywalk has previously coached all players except the selected substitute midlaner and the starting botlaner.

There are several familiar names within the Hong Kong squad. Li "" Sau Nam is the current botlaner for in the LPL. Another recognizable name for the average LPL watcher is Chau "" Shu Tak. The former Invictus Gaming toplaner currently plays in the PCS, the Asia Pacific’s regional league that became a minor league following the creation of the LCP in early 2025. Alongside the jungler and one of the midlaners, all three represent Frank Esports, who finished as the runner-up of the 2026 PCS Spring Split.

Two more players, substitute midlaner Leong "" Ka Kit and substitute support Law "Keres" Chi Ki, currently play in the PCS. These two play for Viper Night Raider, which finished 5-6th during the most recent PCS split. Both VNR players were sent to the Loser’s Bracket by their Frank Esports teammates.

Ling "" Kai Wing last played for Vivo Keys Stars in 2026 CBLoL Split 1 before departing the team. Best known for his time with CTBC Flying Oysters and PSG Talon, it’s reported that the support will join Ground Zero in the LCP.

A week before the ENC Online Qualifiers, Hong Kong played the 2026 Asian Games Qualifiers for a chance to represent their country at the Olympic-level tournament to be hosted in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. However, in contrast to the ENC qualifiers, where BuLuKaKa played a game, for the Asian Games qualifier, it was Keres who suited up and split time with Kaiwing.

The Strength cruised the Groups Stage by beating the Malaysian and Kyrgyz National Teams, topping their group, and securing a spot in Aichi-Nagoya. Hong Kong then finished the Split Stage phase as the runner-up of the Upper Group, just behind the Vietnamese National Team.
