BRO Roamer on his time in Brazil: "There were fights between teammates, that kind of thing"
Hanjin BRION's mid laner Roamer reflects on breaking their losing streak and his eventful year in Brazil with paiN Gaming.

After a year in the CBLOL with paiN Gaming, Cho "" Woo-jin returned to South Korea this year to discover the LCK, the most competitive league in the League of Legends esports ecosystem. Making his debut in the Rise Group during this LCK Season, currently sits second in the standings with seven wins and 14 losses, behind FEARX and .
It was against the latter that the South Korean midlaner and his BRO teammates competed on August 5 in the opening match of Week 11 of the LCK Season. After claiming Game 1 following a 40-minute battle, BRO was caught off guard in Game 2 before closing out the series in Game 3 to secure a 2-1 victory. Following the series, Roamer spoke to Sheep Esports about his first split back in South Korea, as well as his experience competing in Brazil.
How do you feel about the win and what are your overall thoughts on the match?
Jo "Roamer" Woo-jin: "We had been on a losing streak recently, so this was a win we really needed. It feels great to win again after such a long time.
What do you think was the key to today's win?
Roamer: As we kept losing, the feedback we worked on was about communication and everyone finding the right angles together. I think we improved on those things, and that's why we were able to win.
You unfortunately dropped Game 2. What do you think was the reason you lost that set?
Roamer: Game 2... I don't really remember it well. I think I'll need to go back and watch it.
Your nickname is Roamer, but judging from your play today, you seem especially good on aggressive champions that take control starting from lane. What kind of midlaner do you see yourself as?
Roamer: Personally, I think I'm just a midlaner who adapts to whatever direction the team wants.
In the final game, it looked like you were at a big disadvantage early on, but at some point it had turned around. What do you think was the key to winning that game, and when do you think you turned it around?
Roamer: First of all, the opponent failed their early bot dive, so I think the game swung a lot in our favor there.
At that point, you were quite far behind early on, with a lot of towers going down. What kind of calls were you making then? Were you trying to encourage the team, saying you could still win?
Roamer: Yes. I think we tried to play it out as positively as possible.
With the match covered, the conversation turned to Roamer's year abroad. Before joining BRION, he spent the 2025 season in Brazil with , and his recent form has fans there paying attention again.
After your eventful time in Brazil and a tough LCK Cup, you've been showing great form since joining BRION. In the process of getting your form back, what did you personally focus on the most?
Roamer: Recently, after we lost to DN Freecs, we really felt the seriousness of the situation, and we started talking to each other about what wasn't working and what we were doing wrong. In my case, I felt I wasn't communicating enough, so I think I fixed that a lot.
I heard you were quite shy during your time in Brazil, but now you look much more relaxed on stage and seem to enjoy doing celebrations. Back then, were you holding back because of cultural differences, or did you gain confidence over time?
Roamer: Brazil felt a bit unfamiliar, and back then I didn't really know the culture well. I wasn't sure what was okay to do or not. But I think I'm more comfortable here, so that's why I do it.
Among the celebrations you've done, is there one you liked the most?
Roamer: I like them all. All of them.
Over the past year, you've experienced both the coaching staff at paiN Gaming and now the coaching staff at BRION. Did you feel any clear differences in the way they teach and approach the game?
Roamer: With our Korean head coach and coaches now, it feels like they catch a lot of angles that I don't see. When I was in Brazil, the coaches felt more focused on improving individual mechanics.
Was there also a difference in building teamwork?
Roamer: Every coach has a different style, so I think it's hard to say.
Then were there any areas where you unexpectedly improved after coming back to Korea?
Roamer: My understanding of the game, things like that? I think I've improved more in those areas.
What do you think is the biggest cultural difference between Brazil and Korea in how people approach League of Legends?
Roamer: The fans who came to watch in person there were mostly men, but in Korea, it feels like there are more women fans.
Personally, which do you prefer?
Roamer: I like both.
Is there a fun story from Brazil you can share? Even something really light is fine.
Roamer: Back when I was on the Brazilian team, there were just fights between teammates, that kind of thing.
Oh, you fought? Did you win?
Roamer: It got pretty intense, but I guess it's different from Korea.
But you made up afterward, right?
Roamer: Yes, of course we made up.
Are you still on good terms now?
Roamer: Yes, yes.
If you went back to Brazil, is there any food you'd want to eat?
Roamer: Uh, what was it? What was the Brazilian name again? Ah, I forgot. I totally forgot, but there was one.
Then could you at least describe what it was like?
Roamer: I can't remember the name. It was yellow... Ah, I can't remember. There definitely was something.
I'm sure the fans will find it for us. As a midlaner, back when you were a rookie, was there any player you looked up to or saw as a role model?
Roamer: Hmm, I think Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) and Chovy (Jeong Ji-hoon) were those players for me.
Could you tell us why as well?
Roamer: When I first started as a pro, I looked up to Faker because he was pretty much the only player I knew. And as I kept moving between teams, I also came to really like Chovy. He's so good, so I think that's why.
Your performances with BRION lately have been getting a lot of attention again in Brazil. Could you say a word to the Brazilian fans on the other side of the world who are still cheering for you? Can you speak Brazilian?
Roamer: Ah, no, I can't. I can only say hello.
Could you say hello, then continue in Korean?
Roamer: Ah, yes. Oi! To the Brazilian fans who have kept supporting me until now, thank you, really. Thank you so much.
And if someone who doesn't know Roamer could watch just one match from your whole career, which match would you recommend?
Roamer: Ah, my memory is really bad, so I don't remember all the matches I've played.
Maybe a champion you played really well?
Roamer: Something I played well? Ah, I only remember recent matches from this year. Maybe my Akali at T1 Home Ground? Something like that. I think I played the best then.
