After a Top 7-8 finish at the Alpha Split of the China National Tournament, the Chinese equivalent of a Challengers league in other regions,
Octagonal Disposition Gaming have decided to make roster changes. According to sources close to
Sheep Esports, "bai" and Wang "suyjing" Sicheng are expected to be released and replaced by “
SuHang”, who joins from the Titan Esports Club academy roster, and "
vipers", who arrives from
Arrogant Conquer.
In addition to these two changes to the active roster, ODG are also expected to bring in Lee "
Xive" Do-hoon. Xive coached vipers at ACE earlier this year, where the team achieved the same placement as ODG during the
Split Alpha. The two squads actually faced each other in the opening match of the group stage, with Octagonal securing a 2-1 victory. ODG went on to finish first in Group A with five wins and one loss, while ACE narrowly advanced to the playoffs as the fourth and final qualified team, posting a 3-3 record.
It was therefore a promising run for ODG, but their momentum was quickly halted at the start of the playoffs, where they were defeated 1-2 by KeepBest Gaming. Dropping to the lower bracket, the trio of Park "Moves" Jun-seo, Liu "ZiXuan" Junwei, and Shih "XyuS" Kuan-yu, who are expected to remain with the organization for the rest of 2026, were unable to overcome Rare Atom and were ultimately eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs. ACE and vipers experienced a similar fate, falling to the lower bracket after a 0-2 loss against Weibo before being knocked out by Any Questions with a 2-1 defeat.
For
Octagonal Disposition Gaming, the next challenge will be the Omega Split, the second stage of the
VALORANT Chinese Tier 2 season, where four spots for Act 3 of the China Evolution Series will be up for grabs. In addition to granting access to Ascension in previous seasons, the National Tournament also awards berths to offseason events held between
VCT China stages. As a result, the best Tier 2 teams get the opportunity to face Tier 1 squads that failed to qualify for international LAN events, whether Masters or Champions, in a single-elimination bracket.
