Los Ratones Comes to an End After Just Over a Year of Existence

It’s officially the end of Los Ratones, as announced by the organization’s CEO, Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont, in a lengthy video posted on the team’s YouTube channel: “Los Ratones will be shutting down. That’s it. That’s the end of the journey.” He also made it clear that there will be no future return for LR: “highly likely it never comes back. Starts and ends with that group. Starts and ends with those players.”
After more than a year of activity, Los Ratones has come to an end. In just over a year of competition, the team claimed all three NLC splits in 2025, as well as two EMEA Masters titles. They also had the opportunity to compete in the 2026 LEC Versus kick-off tournament, alongside Karmine Corp Blue.
Last November, Caedrel had already confirmed that Los Ratones would not participate in the NLC or any other ERL after the LEC Versus split, dismissing rumors linking the team to a potential move to another European Tier 2 league. Several members of the club also announced they would not continue beyond LR, including Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, Simon “Baus” Hofverberg, and Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi.
One of Europe’s Most Followed Teams
Caedrel also took the time to thank those who contributed to the project. He spoke about Baus, the solo queue streamer who joined the team and, in Caedrel’s words, “developed into an LEC toplaner. He learned years of gameplay in such a short amount of time.” He also mentioned Veljko “Velja” Čamdžić: “He started off a little slow and a bit shaky, but then found his rhythm, proving why he’s truly a top-tier carry jungler.”
Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek, meanwhile, proved he still had what it takes with a high-level split. While many criticized Juš “Crownie” Marušič, Caedrel described him as “our rock in our comms and in our direction.” As for Rekkles, who played his very first LEC split as a support, he gradually grew more confident and settled into his role as the split progressed.
“It’s only on us to blame”
Their final split was a run in the LEC Versus, which started off rough with four consecutive losses. Just as everyone had written them off, they bounced back with four straight wins, including impressive victories over Movistar KOI and G2 Esports. On the last day, they needed a win against Vitality, or for other favorable scenarios to play out, but neither happened, and Los Ratones ultimately missed the playoffs.
One of these scenarios involved a victory for Karmine Corp against Team Heretics, but the Blue Wall was defeated, to everyone’s surprise, by the Spanish side. Some LR fans took the result particularly badly, accusing KC of having lost on purpose, but Caedrel was very clear on the matter: “It’s only on us to blame. I know there's been a lot of like social media and drama and lots of people attacking and stuff like that. And I just want to say like there's really no need for any of it. Our fate was in our hands and we let it slip.”
