Third team in three splits for the Algerian midlaner in 2026. Tarek "
" Djoghlaf is set to join Verdant in the Northern
League of Legends Championship for the Summer Split, the team announced on Friday. The team's jungler during the Winter Split, but absent for the Spring Split, Lovre "Mafro" Čorić will also be making his return. Sayn will replace Mike "Furuy" Wils, who had been occupying the team's midlane role and with whom he won the NLC Spring Split.
This will therefore be his third team this year, after starting the season with
BK ROG Esports in the LFL Winter Split, where they finished in 7th place. He then joined FN Esports in the Arabian League, making it all the way to the final before falling to Anubis Gaming. That second-place finish earned him his first-ever EMEA Masters appearance, although they were eliminated during the Play-In stage.
This move therefore makes sense for Sayn, as he will reunite with a Head Coach he has already worked with this year, Patrick "
Dont Ban Nida" Møller Andersen. The Danish coach won the 2026 Arabian League Spring Promotion with Super Stars alongside Sayn before he
joined FN Esports.
On Verdant’s side, the team has won both NLC splits in 2026, delivering clean sweeps in both finals against Arctic Pandas and Ruddy Corporation. However, their EMEA Masters run went less smoothly, as they were eliminated in Round 2 of the playoffs. They will therefore aim to do better in the Summer Split, starting with maintaining their level in the NLC.
