Maps Designed for Competition
VALORANT, the game developed by Riot Games, is a tactical FPS that currently features twelve maps. The objective for the two opposing teams in a match is to score more points than the other. To do this, players battle on a map with the goal of planting the Spike, defusing it, or eliminating all five opponents.
Depending on the map and the agents being played, the strategies to achieve these goals vary. Each of the current maps offers a unique mechanic that affects gameplay to varying degrees. While most of the maps feature two spike sites, two of them include three (Lotus and Haven). On certain maps, players can also jump over gaps to surprise enemies, open or break large doors, depending on the game plan.
The List of Maps
Currently, there are seven maps available in competitive and casual modes out of a total of twelve. These maps rotate regularly to offer different gameplay experiences and give Riot time to rework them. It's also worth noting that some maps are exclusive to other game modes, such as Deathmatch.
In the game's lore, almost all of the maps are set in real-world locations, although they exist in alternate versions of our universe. For example, three of them (Lotus, Pearl, and Corrode) are located on Omega Earth, while the rest are on Alpha Earth.
