T1's 4th Worlds Championship trophy in 2023 solidifies its status as the sole top-tier organization in League of Legends esports from 2011 to the present. Beyond the unparalleled achievement, what sets T1 apart is not only the absence of recruitment frenzy but the strategic construction of their super team, a journey that began in 2021.

T1's Pre-2021 Era
Before delving into T1's strategic shift, it's essential to understand their trajectory leading up to 2021. Notably, all players, except Keria, have exclusively donned the T1 jersey, with Gumayusi's ascent from the academy to the LCK being particularly noteworthy.
2021 - A Pivotal Year
The pivotal shift occurred in 2021, marking a departure from previous attempts to create super teams around Faker. Following disappointments in 2017 and 2018, T1 revamped its roster in 2019, only to face further setbacks. The return of Canna and Cuzz, alongside Effort, did not yield the desired results. The realization that a new approach was needed set the stage for the transformative year ahead.
Evolution Beyond Worlds: T1's Building Process After 2021
In 2021, T1 shifted its focus from immediate World Championship glory to a sustainable, long-term strategy. The integration of fresh talent alongside seasoned players became the cornerstone of their plan. Notably, player rotations in the top, jungle, and ADC positions were frequent, demonstrating T1's commitment to nurturing talent.
Gumayusi's recruitment in 2021 exemplifies T1's foresight. While the option to bring Deft was viable, T1 maintained trust in Teddy, the 2020 starting ADC, and prioritized Gumayusi's development in the LCK. Oner's successful transition during the Summer playoffs showcased T1's ability to groom talent effectively.

2022 - Trusting in the Blueprint
By 2022, T1 had honed its strategy, with Zeus, Oner, and Gumayusi evolving into formidable players. Trusting in their young talent, T1 reached the World Championship finals, narrowly missing victory. This close call reinforced T1's belief in their roster's capability, leading to a decision not to alter their lineup in 2023.
Despite DRX winning Worlds, T1 did not even think about changing their roster.
T1's Strategic Triumph in Esports Evolution
T1's journey from pre-2021 struggles to the strategic evolution of their roster demonstrates a commitment to building a valuable, internally developed team. In a league where high-value transfers are commonplace, T1's success showcases the wisdom of investing in a carefully cultivated, talented roster.
