Despite winning two best-of-fives during the
Worlds 2026 Play-In stage,
have been eliminated by
, suffering a combined 0-6 score across their two encounters. The Vietnamese representatives head home disappointed, but not without making their mark, having
eliminated Brazil’s second seed along the way.
In an exclusive interview with
Sheep Esports, MVK’s secondary jungler
discussed his absence from the series against KC, his feelings following the elimination, his international debut, and his hopes for the future.
How do you feel after the 0-3 loss to KC, especially since you didn't get to play today?
Lê "SanSan" Quốc Khánh: “I feel pretty bad because my team didn’t play very well today. The atmosphere was not great.
Do you think the team had the wrong mindset going into the match?
SanSan: Yes.
How was the decision made about who would play today, and what was different from the last match against Karmine Corp?
SanSan: To be honest, I think it made sense for
to be the starter, considering he’s been playing with the team the whole year. That said,
actually wanted me to play in the fourth game, but sadly, it never came to fruition.
How did it feel to make your debut with the team at Worlds, on the biggest stage possible? What have the last few days been like for you?
SanSan: I feel extremely happy that I finally got my shot to play on the biggest stage, but I regret not getting to play against Karmine Corp, as I feel I could have done well. I hope I’ll get to keep playing on the international stage against stronger opponents in the future.
Despite today's loss, do you think MVK's Worlds run can be considered a success, given the expectations heading into the tournament?
SanSan: In my eyes, getting to beat
twice in a row is already a great achievement, especially because people have underestimated us and rated us as underdogs this entire time.
Do you think the LCP's recent results show that Vietnam is improving and could achieve more success in the coming years?
SanSan: Yes, I do. People should look out for Nguyễn "Umi" Thế Dương as well in our academy.
Now that your Worlds run is over, are you heading straight home? Did you get to enjoy North America before the end of the event?
SanSan: Honestly, I would have loved to stay a day or two more for sightseeing. I really love seeing the beaches.
You're only 19, and I’m sure your family must have been watching your Worlds run. Do you feel like you've made them proud?
SanSan: I think I've made everyone proud of me.
Finally, is there a message you'd like to leave people with so they remember you from this year?
SanSan: I don’t think I’ve had a chance to leave a big impression during these Worlds, but I hope that in the coming years, people will remember me for what I displayed here.”
