MKF XnS: "The goal for now is just reaching the LEC"

After joining as the team’s only roster change for the Summer Split, Turkish jungler Enes "" Hansu has quickly established himself as a key part of the team’s resurgence. The jungler helped MKOI secure a spot in the Final Four after overcoming in a five-game semifinal, while also qualifying for the upcoming EMEA Masters Summer Edition.

With the team now preparing for a decisive week in the Spanish ERL, XnS spoke with Sheep Esports about his adaptation to MKOI and the league, the team’s preparation for the Final Four, his affinity for Shyvana, and the squad’s ambitions at EMEA Masters. He also discussed the support he has received from the MKOI organization and community, as well as his long-term ambition of reaching the LEC.

Enes "XnS" Hansu: “I think we should have won much more easily. Maybe it was the excitement because it was the final, or a bit of stress. We didn't play as well as we normally do, so it went to Game 5. In Game 4, I think we also had not the best draft. But in general, I think we were the better team and should have won much more easily.

XnS: I think they needed a shot-calling jungler, I would say, and a dictator, at least for the early game. I like to call people around me a lot, so it was a good fit. I had to adapt to some things, and they had to adapt to some things with me as well. Gameplay-wise, I changed a bit. I was a more aggressive player before, but now I play a bit more chill and play more towards our team goals. They also changed a bit to play more around the jungle because I call them a lot and tell them how we should play. So it fits well, yeah.

XnS: I think what we need to improve is how we handle ourselves and our excitement in big matches. We need to stay calm and play our own game, because that's what we're lacking right now. Plan-wise and gameplay-wise, I don't think we need to change much. It's mainly the excitement and the mechanical mistakes. We just need to improve individually in those areas. As for the stage, I think everyone on our team has played on a stage before. And I played in the TCL finals last year. I don't think it will change much, at least for me. I can't really guess if my teammates will change their gameplay or not, but for me, I don't think it will change much.

XnS: After the first games are done [fearless drafts], I think the champion is strong in some situations and it kind of fits my playstyle. I like to play farming champions, then be a carry in team fights and play the skirmishes, which the champion is good for. So when I see a good angle, I go for it.

XnS: The goal is obviously to win it, or at least be Top 4 and stuff. But in EMEA, that can change a lot because if you're not in good shape for one day, you can just get eliminated in the playoffs. I think we're a strong team, but we have some issues with ourselves. Basically, when we lose, we just lose to ourselves. We do some random stuff, we get caught a lot. It's not like the other teams don't have good plans and lose; we usually have good plans, it's just the execution. We make random mechanical or individual mistakes or get caught. So if we can just be ourselves and not int, I think we have a really strong team for EMEA.

XnS: I've just been working with the Academy guys and it's been going well. We have the psychologist and team manager as well. I never had these roles in my other teams, and it's helpful to have that kind of support. Obviously, when you win and see MKOI fans supporting you, it's always good to see. I'm not really involved with the LEC team. I didn't go to the bootcamp either, so I'm not sure what's going on in LEC. I just talked with Disgrace, the coach, and one time we talked with Elyoya and he gave me some tips. Other than that, I actually don't know much about the LEC. The stuff is working well for me here.

XnS: It's really good and motivating to see. I think I've been really good for more than a year already, and since last year I couldn't really find a good team to fit in. I've had some bad splits or unlucky splits, I don't know. Here, I fit well, yes. I trust in myself, I have confidence, and I think I'm the best. I like seeing the comments as well, and it's really motivating me to improve more.

XnS: Obviously, the goal for now is just reaching the LEC, and I think I'm at a really good level to show up in the LEC. Obviously, I just live in the moment and we'll see what life brings me, but yeah, that’s my goal.

XnS: Nothing special. I really like the support, and we'll keep trying our best to keep winning everything that we have in front of us.”
