The last weekend of the regular phase of the LEC begins and with it the possibilities to see who will be the 8 qualifiers to the playoffs. This summer split has been a rollercoaster of emotions and the script for this last week could not be more tense.
Before talking about the bottom of the table, where everything will be played and where we could have two playoffs on Sunday, we have to highlight the 3 way battle at the top.
Fnatic, SK and BDS
Both Fnatic, SK and BDS are playing for the top spot this weekend. Based on form it looks like Fnatic could be the regular split champion again like last time, but we will also have a direct clash between FNC and BDS on Sunday where it is possible that the leader of the regular phase will be decided.
On the other hand SK is facing Team Vitality and Karmine Corp. They have the direct clash against FNC lost but won against BDS so if there is a 2-0 week for SK and BDS, SK would be the regular stage champion.
5-way race
At the tightest part of the table, Mad Lions KOI, Team Heretics, Team Vitality, Rogue and GiantX are playing for the playoffs in a five-way race that promises to be a thrilling one until the very last minute. All teams depend on themselves to make the playoffs except MDK.
Karmine Corp
Karmine Corp need to take 1 win against BDS or Rogue to secure 100% playoffs
Even if they lose both games, they can still secure playoffs directly but, they will at least have a tiebreaker 100%. If the worst scenario happens they will at least have one last chance to go to playoffs with a tiebreaker
Mad Lions KOI
MDK needs to win against BDS and Rogue to have a chance to get a ticket to playoffs without a tie break but even if they do that, they can still be out of playoffs. However, since it's not realistic to think TH and VIT will go 2-0 this week, they have a very high chance to at least get a tiebreak
For MDK to miss the playoffs, Team Heretics, Vitality and GiantX would have to have a 2-0 week and Karmine Corp would have to beat SK.
If MAD Lions KOI secures a win it opens up the possibility of a four-way tie between 2-7 teams.
If MADK win against BDS but lose against Rogue : TH and VIT or TH and GX or VIT and GX needs to go 0-2 so they get a tiebreak
If MADK win against Rogue but lose against BDS :
Rogue and TH or Rogue and VIT or TH and VIT or GX and VIT or GX and TH needs to go 0-2 so they get a tiebreak (GX and Rogue cant both go 0-2 since they face each other)
If MADK lose against BDS and Rogue they're out, whatever happens
Rogue
Rogue need to take 2 wins against GiantX and MADK to secure 100% playoffs
If Rogue lose against MadK but win against GX, they 100% lock a tiebreaker
If Rogue wins against MADK but loses against GX :
VIT or GX or TH needs to lose at least 1 game or KC needs to lose 2 games so Rogue secures a tiebreak
If VIT or TH lose 2 games, Rogue is 100% in the playoffs.
If Rogue lose 2 games :
VIT and TH needs to lose 2 games or
VIT lose 2 games and MADK lose against BDS or
TH lose 2 games and MDK lose against BDS so Rogue secure a tiebreak
GIANTX
GIANTX needs to win against Rogue and KC to secure 100% playoffs
If GIANTX lose against KC but win against Rogue, they 100% lock at least a tiebreaker
If GIANTX win against KC but lose against Rogue :
VIT or Rogue or TH needs to lose at least 1 game or KC needs to lose against SK, so GIANTX secure at least a tiebreak
If GIANTX lose 2 games :
VIT and TH needs to lose 2 games or
VIT lose 2 games and MADK lose at least 1 game or
TH lose two games and MADK lose at least 1 game so GX secure a tiebreak
Vitality
If VIT win against G2 and SK they 100% secure playoffs.
If VIT go 1-1 this week, they 100% secure a tiebreak
If VIT go 0-2 :
MDK have to lose at least 1 game and TH lose 2 games or
MDK lose against BDS and Rogue lose 2 games or TH lose 2 games and Rogue lose 2 games or
MDK lose at least 1 game and GIANTX lose 2 games or
GIANTX lose two games and TH lose 2 games to secure a tiebreak
Team Heretics
If TH win against G2 and FNC they 100 % secure playoffs
If TH go 1-1 they 100% secure a tiebreak
If TH go 0-2 :
MDK have to lose at least 1 game and VIT lose 2 games or
MDK lose against BDS and Rogue lose 2 games or
VIT lose 2 games and Rogue lose 2 games or
MDK lose at least 1 game and GIANTX lose 2 games or
GIANTX lose two games and VIT lose 2 games to secure a tiebreak
