As the 2026
League of Legends season wanes, the
League of Legends Championship Series (
LCS) Summer Split award-winning season commences. The best league in North America announced its first winners on
September 10th.
won the best
Coaching Staff of the Split after finishing the Summer Split 6-1.
On the individual awards front,
Jonah “” Rosario received the first award:
Most Improved Player of the season. This award is
support’s crown jewel after his incredible 2026 season, where he blossomed into one of the league’s best players.
Two times in three years
After a resurging Spring Split, Team Liquid carried their momentum into the Summer Split to meet this season’s high expectations. They had an impressive season, finishing 6-1 in the Regular Season. TL were undefeated in series and individual games for four weeks, until their weekend at LCS Homegrounds in Mexico City. They only dropped three games all season, and one series against LYON.
This is the second time TL has won the award since Jake “Spawn" Tiberi was promoted as the Main Team’s Head Coach in 2024. Strategic Coach Samuel “Spookz” Broadley has filled Head Coach duties when Spawn isn’t present. Haitham “Haitham” Algbory and Kang “Dodo” Jun-hyeok round out the Coaching staff as Head Analyst and General Manager & Assistant Coach, respectively.
Potential fulfilled
Ever since his recruitment from Oceania’s Legacy team at Worlds 2020, Isles looked like a great prospect. Unfortunately, the support struggled to become a permanent feature at Cloud9. At the start of the 2026 season, Isles was viewed as the most glaring weakness of LYON’s “super team”.
However, the Australian quickly proved the masses wrong and kept his incredible form as the season progressed. During the Summer Split, Isles led the Most Average Assists and Wards Placed per minute, and came second in Assists and KDA. Will he help the Mexican Organization go 3 for 3?
When will the MVP be crowned?
The LCS announced the roadmap for the
upcoming Summer Split Regular Season awards, where fans can help bestow three awards to their favorite players. The first fan-voted award is the prestigious
Most Valuable Player. It will be announced on
October 1st, a couple of days before the
LCS Summer Split Finals in
Atlanta, Georgia. Before the MVP is crowned, the KIA 1st, 2nd, and 3rd LCS All-Pro Teams, the second of the three fan-voted awards, will be unveiled on September 17th. Finally, the final fan-voted award, Rookie of the Split, will be revealed on September 24th.
