G2 sweep 100 Thieves to advance in the upper bracket
G2 Esports opened the day by defeating 100 Thieves 2-0, overcoming expectations against a team widely considered one of the favorites entering the series.
The first map, Abyss, was largely controlled by G2, who secured a convincing 13-5 victory to take the lead in the series. The North American favorites struggled to find a response as G2 built momentum and kept 100 Thieves from mounting a comeback.
Ascent proved more competitive, with 100 Thieves pushing G2 throughout the map. However, G2 held their nerve in the closing rounds to secure a 13-11 win and complete the sweep.
Vitality edge Nongshim RedForce in three-map thriller
The second series of the day saw Team Vitality defeat Nongshim RedForce 2-1 in a back-and-forth encounter that required overtime on the deciding map.
Vitality started strongly on Split, taking a 13-8 victory to move within one map of advancing. Nongshim responded emphatically on Abyss, dominating the map 13-4 to level the series and force a decider.
On Haven, both teams fought to stay alive in the upper bracket, with neither able to establish a decisive advantage. The map went to overtime, where Vitality eventually secured a 14-12 victory to close out the series. Ștefan “Sayonara” Mîtcu was one of Vitality’s standout performers, helping his team survive Nongshim’s comeback attempt and secure the series win.

LOUD. The winners will move closer to the upper-bracket final, while the losers will still have a chance to continue their tournament runs through the lower bracket.
