Vulcan extends his contract with Cloud9 until 2029

support Philippe "" Laflamme has extended his contract until 2029, according to the Global Contract Database, adding two more years to his previous deal, which was set to expire in 2027. The Canadian support will therefore continue to represent C9 until 2029. Now 27 years old, Vulcan will be 30 when his contract with the North American organization expires, a testament to his longevity.

If Vulcan sees out his contract with C9, he will have spent eight years wearing the organization's sky-blue colors. He began his career in late 2015 before joining Clutch Gaming, first in its academy team and then its main roster, with which he made his Worlds debut in 2019. He subsequently joined C9 in 2020, immediately winning his first LCS title in the Spring Split. The team won another Spring title in 2021, allowing Vulcan to make his first Mid-Season Invitational appearance.

He then left C9 for two years to join Evil Geniuses, helping the organization win the only trophy in its history, before having a brief stint with FlyQuest and returning to C9 in 2024. However, he has yet to win another title since rejoining the organization. Most recently, Cloud9 competed at Worlds 2026 but were the first team eliminated after back-to-back losses to Karmine Corp and FURIA in the Play-In, a disappointing result for the North American team.

The organization recently parted ways with former midlaner Eain "APA" Stearns and AD carry Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen, who had been benched at the end of the Spring Split. However, all five players who featured during the Summer Split and the Worlds Play-In remain under contract. Toplaner Park "Thanatos" Seung-gyu, veteran jungler Robert "Blaber" Huang, and AD carry Edward "Tactical" Ra are all signed through 2028.

The team's midlaner, Lee "Loki" Sang-min, is the only player with a shorter contract, which expires at the end of 2027. While this does not necessarily mean the same five players will remain together next year, Cloud9 have a solid contractual foundation if they wish to retain their roster.

The coaching staff also have long-term contracts, with Christian "IWillDominate" Rivera and Noh "Arrow" Dong-hyeon signed through 2028, while Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi is under contract until 2029. Notably, Vulcan is the only player in the LCS under contract for that long.
