With
NRG nearing a deal to sign Jayden "
2Piece" Horton, Dylan "
Wahvey" Thanus, and Kenneth "
frosty" Walz for the
Rocket League Club Championship, the organization has set its sights on Adam "
adam_baguette" Alexandre to join the team as head coach. The French born coach, who currently resides in North America, spent last season with FUT Esports and helped the team earn a top-four at the 2026 World Championship. Adam_baguette parted ways with the organization on October 7 and expressed he was looking for new opportunities in North America, Europe, and MENA. He is now expected to link up with 2Piece and Wahvey, who were both coached by Michael
"MEMORY" Moss last season on
Virtus.pro. However, Memory
announced that he was not planning to coach a team for RLCS 2027 following the conclusion of the World Championship, retiring from the esport after a nine-year career competing in the RLCS.
Adam_baguette’s profile as a coach has grown over the course of four years. The 24-year-old started out working with smaller free agent squads in Europe, including a notable stint behind the cult favourite
Hogan Mode squad during RLCS 2022-23, featuring Joseph "
Growlii" Caffrey, Kyle
"Scrub Killa" Robertson, and Kieran
"rehzzy" Hogan. In RLCS 2025 he got his first big opportunity with an RLCS organization, helping out
PWR for Split 2 of that season before then joining FUT Esports as assistant coach for the 2025 World Championship, who were housing a Spanish import squad competing out of Sub-Saharan Africa at the time.
He became the head coach of the organization following their pivot to North America to sign frosty, Gianluca "
sosa" Petrozza, and Carlos
"CHEESE." Aguado. The team missed out on the Boston Major in the first Split, which then saw frosty join Gen.G Mobil1 Racing in the transfer window. In response, Adam helped the organization navigate a risky Split 2 rebuild that saw the additions of veteran players, Nicholas "
Chronic" Iwanski and Justin
"jstn." Morales, following the departure of sosa. The move was risky because it reset the healthy amount of points FUT Esports earned in Split 1, forcing the organization to start fresh in an attempt to make the Paris Major. The move was a success, with Adam aiding the team to qualify for Paris, before they then reached the
Esports World Cup and 2026 World Championship through two gruelling Last Chance Qualifiers, not an easy task for any coach. The pinnacle of Adam’s season came at that last event, where the squad was able to earn a top-four finish in his first appearance on the World Championship stage in front of a live crowd.
Despite the strong end to the season, Chronic
made the decision to depart FUT Esports and
is expected to sign with Gen.G ahead of the RLCS Club Championship. The organization also made the decision to part ways with Adam_baguette ahead of the planned addition of Logan "
Lj" Wilt, who they
have reached a verbal agreement with this offseason. As a result, Adam entered the market and was targeted by the expected NRG lineup, after Memory’s decision to retire from the role. The team is set to be finalized by the organization in the coming days.
